Ok, so to clear that up the away kit for this season is indeed black. Those choices are regarding the away kit for the next season (2010/11).

Yeah, I can't say I mind that Falcão isn't coming. It would be a shame to see either Cardozo or Saviola benched, and we also have Nuno Gomes, who I believe will be a very good backup for the next season or two.

If we got Berg, then I would be happy he seems a promising player for the future.

And hell, don't we have 5M to get Reyes? Geez, seems like the Miccoli situation again.. Even though I'm not sure he would fit in the 4-4-2 diamond.

In Diario de Noticias they said that Benfica made a offer of 4 Millions for Reyes.

Berg, never saw im playing but i heard that its a promising player, for me we would stick with Nelson Oliveira and put him playing some games.

And Carvalhas and David are in Fatma for loan, i think it was a good choice.

J.J. could go for a wide diamond and use some fast wingers, which Reyes is. I dunno, I just think we should keep him. He did an OK first season, it can only get better, since we have a very supportive coach, which knows the Portuguese League a LOT better.

Let's see if they get to stay with Reyes for 4 million... I certainly hope so, the dude's still got future.

Berg is an amazing striker, but I highly doubt we would get him. And if we did, it would be quuiiiiite pricy. Then again, I'm not really looking forward for another striker, since we have enough, and good ones already.

A few interesting names have been linked with Benfica recently including Rodrigo Palacio of Boca. He's a player I've always had an interest in & apparently according to Record is the player Jorge Jesus would prefer. Don't know how true that is but none the less, interesting. Denis & Weldon are the others linked now that Falcao is out of the picture.
Palacio has one more year on his contract with Boca & the club is open to negotiations with a few teams already interested including Genoa who have reportedly offered €2.5m for him. Which is far less than what Boca want for him.

O argentino Palacio, do Boca Juniors, é um dos avançados preferidos de Jorge Jesus, pelas suas características técnicas. Não sendo um goleador nato (marca uma média de 11/12 golos por ano), tem tido um papel importante no clube nas últimas três temporadas, após uma adaptação menos rápida que o desejado quando foi contratado ao Banfield, em 2004. Palacio tem ainda mais um ano de contrato com o Boca, mas o clube está disponível para o negociar, sendo certo que existem já ofertas pelo jogador, uma delas do Génova, de Itália. Contudo, os 2,5 milhões de euros oferecidos estarão muito longo do desejado pelos dirigentes argentinos.

Neste cenário, o Benfica poderá ter argumentos para entrar numa eventual luta por Palacio, uma vez que ainda há dias estava pronto para pagar quase o dobro ao River Plate por Falcao. Os próximos dias vão esclarecer se uma das preferências de Jesus será o seu próximo pupilo.

Águia vai a exames​

Primeiro teste da época realiza-se hoje com o Sion. Amanhã o reencontro com o vencedor da Taça UEFA, o Shakhtar Donetsk, da Ucrânia. Moreira deve ser hoje o guarda-redes.

O Benfica versão Jorge Jesus começa hoje a ser colocado à prova, como Sion, equipa da I Divisão suíça, a apresentar-se como o primeiro examinador da temporada. Numa fase em que jogadores e equipa técnica procuram ainda conhecer-se melhor mutuamente, assimilar métodos e regras de trabalho, oportunidade para se perceber até que ponto as alterações tácticas introduzidas estão a obter resposta por parte de quem tem a responsabilidade de passar da teoria à prática.

Na teoria, sabe-se que Jorge Jesus tem ensaiado com intensidade o modelo 4x4x2 em losango, constituindo desde logo uma profunda alteração relativamente à época passada, em que Quique Flores jogava num clássico 4x4x2. Será, por isso, o regresso a um desenho geométrico que o Benfica utilizou durante a gestão de Fernando Santos, mas que abandonaria posteriormente.

Reside, por isso, alguma curiosidade em se perceber quem serão os jogadores seleccionados para o meio-campo, numa fase em que ainda falta chegar Ramires... ou até mais um reforço para trinco. Yebda, na cabeça da área, Carlos Martins a interior direito, Di María como interior esquerdo, e Pablo Aimar no vértice ofensivo são as primeiras apostas para o desafio de hoje e para já também os homens que, ainda no campo das teorias, maior favoritismo têm para actuar no miolo. Só a chegada de Ramires obrigará a repensar a estratégia.

Sion 2 x 2 Benfica

Cardozo and Saviola scores!

It was a friendly, so didn't expect much of it. The first half with our Fantastic Three! Cardozo, Saviola and Aimar, played very well. It was a good match to see some errors. Quim in the second half, it's always the same! Tomorrow it's against the UEFA Champions, another good match to see.
