I didn't know this thread was missing a poll until today - sorry about that. (I got in the first vote! :D) Maradona out, Riquelme in!

who cares? Pep broke the topic of experience, Pochettino revived a dead team wich only won 2 of 30 matches, in psychological terms is as good as Guardiola.

pep is a great coach and is more easy for him barça have a fantastic team and best player in all planet MESSI and wizards with the ball iniesta and xavi maybe you say for triplet but for all this need too luck but in many games saw this need make changes more fast because he make this change sin minute 80 or 85

for resume legends are not made in days, need as a life

I think Maradona should be given time, even if they change to another coach and Argentina could still have the risk of not qualifying.

I think it would be a big big boost to the nation, players, as well as Maradona himself(as a manager) if they do make it to the World Cup.

Gonzalo Gerardo "El Pipita" Higuaín..

another big waste. he's a striker and still young. i wouldn't dare say he's even close to what batigol was but he's certainly better than the hyped milito. he could be an excellent choice although I'm all for barrios in the starting eleven.

what about conca?

Argentinean coaches believe that Pep Guardiola should replace Maradona because he knows how to use Messi's talents.

How's Milito hyped? He almost won the Capocannonieri title last year with a team outside of the big3 and he already has 4 goals this year. :biggrinx:

I'm sorry but I see in Milito the same I saw in Bierhoff: he's a ball pusher. the kind of centerforward that only finishes it, not creates the play. with the difference that Bierhoff was an excel header, a talent only below Jardel back then. Milito is just a few milimeters above Crespo, because Crespo is old now. In his good River Plate's days and in his early seasons in Europe he was incredible.

Milito is like Cruz but much better, he also creates alot of space as a forward and helps move the defence around, he does alot of things you don't get to see. If you have many second striker player/attacking mids like Messi/Aguero/Maxi R/Lavezzi you should have someone like Milito for balance.

well in that case, why Maradona shouldn't give a chance do Barrios either?

And I insist: argentines are too snob when it comes to players that should be in the national team. this is why they stick to old names until they're worn out and can't play. I remember that Conca, who plays for FLuminense in Brazil kicked Boca Juniors' ass in Libertadores 2008 semifinals...but, it wasn't enough for argentine sports press. they said he didn't play in a great level as a sub-20 and the league where he played wasn't enough qualified to evalute him.

c'mon...in 98 brazil made the final match against france. And both of our defensive midfielders, a key position in a World Cup - Dunga and Cesar Sampaio - played for J-League! Cesar Sampaio even scored 3 goals in that cup. Argentines should leave a litte of that 'footbalistic prejudice' behind and let good players do the work they really need.

Yeah, and just like Bierhoff, he scores goals. Which is what the 1 forward should do; finish. He doesn't have to be a creator, just score and open up space for either Messi, Aguero, Lavezzi, or whoever Maradona decides to play in the SS role. Granted club form doesn't always translate to the national level. I'd have Crespo in the team too, as a super-sub. He's better than Palermo, and still deadly in the air.
