I'm thinking of buying a new graphics card to replace my geforce4 mx460 crap (just for PES3 :) ); hence my Mainboard does not support AGP8x, I don't want to invest 200$ for radeon 9600xt, maybe later:).. there is a better option (at least it seems), Radeon9200 SE 128 mb for 50$ (I'm thinking of ASUS). I want to learn who uses this card, in which resolution and is there any slowdowns in the game because of the card (partial or complete, for example when closing down to the penalty areas) ?. as far as I know (and I've experienced), nvidia based cards and windows xp has refresh rate syndrome which makes the game unplayable. also, with my current graphics card (which is meant to be a 2d card), I can't play battlefield1942 properly, would radeon 9200 correct this or not?. and, what is the overall performance of radeon 9200 in comparison to geforce fx5200. also, It's written in an internet shopping site that radeon9200SE supports directx 9 but either asus and powercolor says it only supports directx 8.1 .. of course consulting asus and powercolor should be more reliable, but which one is correct?.

by the way;

- do NOT advise me to buy radeon 9600 or geforce fx 5600 series, if I had a mainboard with AGP8x and 200$, I wouldn't have asked you, I've already bought radeon9600.
-please answer if you really know and played PES3 with radeon9200. this game is the reason why I'm thinking of buying this card.
-and my system specs:

MSI6566E Mainboard
512 MB DDR RAM 266 Mhz
40 gb seagate
WinXP
leadtek geforce4 mx460
celeron 1.7

thank you to all who'll submit their sincere answers.

I have the computer of my signature, and amazingly I just can run it in 640x480 Low detail to not have any slowdowns (I play eith the default long camera, and with stadium effects on). I get some slowdown at Medium. It's incredible. How can the game just be so "heavy"?!
Having more RAM than I do could help you, but I'd recommend you a GeForce 4 TI if you don't want an expensive card. Radeon 9200 can handle all the other games fine, but not PES3 :f***: :( :( :(

You know, the Radeon 9800SE is Soft-Moddable to 9800 Pro levels(much like the 9500 was moddable to 9700 levels)

I have a GF4MX440 and with 3d-Analyze it plays perfectly at 800x600.

XP2600+
512 MB PC3200 Ram
120GB HDD
Hercules Muse XL(the sound card does make a difference)

5200 isn't better than any GF4Ti.

Oh, also last night i turned detail to Medium and turned off the Stadium FX and i didn't get any slowdowns ^_^
Good for me... hahah =\

you know even if u dont have 8x AGP u can still play use the card on a 4x AGP slot. There is some performance difference but not so much. Any performance difference is very small.
