In 2012 hitting the wordwork or attackimg foul were the match engine's way of.explaining why you weren't destroying the opposition. Offsides too.

I just lost an entire season because I played 12 hours yesterday and the game crashed on matchday 37. On the plus side, it wasn't a particularly great season for me as I was likely going to finish 6th, and pretty much embarrassed myself in the cups. The only real bright spot was that my 20 year old striker, Josh Gratton, started scoring as much as his attributes suggested he should. Right now I'm saved with 3 points from 2 games in my CL Group (I finished with 4 the first time) with my home game against Marseille coming up.

Anyone have a club suggestion for a new long term game. I'm looking for a top flight team with lots of youth talent. I had a Schalke save in FM13, plus Juve is playing them. I've done a long term Southampton save already, so they're out. I may return to that from time to time, but I loaded up the game after a 3-4 week break and it seems like I was really rushing through seasons because there were a lot of new players I didn't recognize. That made it seem like it wasn't really my team, which is not what I want.

Would probably prefer Germany, but I'm open to England, Italy, France, Spain, and possibly some of the bigger clubs in smaller nations if they have the requisite talent. Steaua might be interesting because of Stanciu and Iancu who emerged as big talents in my Southampton game.

Chelsea is too big, I don't think that will be much of a challenge. Spurs is kind of intriguing, but their talent isn't really English and is pretty well established in spite of their youth; I want home grown kids that I can mold myself.

What about Sporting? Maybe PSV? Anderlecht?

You could try Udinese, they have a crapload of youth on the books + free transfers between watford and granada where you can poach their youth players too

Anderlecht is a good shout. Dennis Praet can become an elite European midfielder, two seasons into my Schalke game he transferred to PSG and looks like a beast. Mitrovic and Massimo Bruno have very good potential as well. Unfortunately you won't have any of the current young Belgian national team stars, but the timing for a Belgian game is pretty good with all the rising talents.

I just checked and saw that former FM ''wonderkid'' Anthony Vanden Borre is back at Anderlecht after flopping in Serie A.

Sporting is a headache with all the half-owned players. Anderlecht is a great choice and it'll be easier to win in the league and build something great, plus if you get super good maybe you can even snatch one or two of the Belgian talents that are already abroad.

Did you end up choosing Anderlecht? My scouts keep coming up with loads of youngsters with amazing potential from Anderlecht, it's insane.

Transfer fees are a lot more realistic this year. For the most part you can get players for their value, or only slightly higher which is really the point of having player value in the first place. There are exceptions of course, but I think they've done a great job, and players are sensitive to even the slightest increase in their asking price above their value.

I can't believe I made this post. What a fucking joke it's become either as I get further along into Regen Time, or with the subsequent patches. Even 17 year olds are comically expensive. There are guys in the fucking reserves at PSG, City, Monaco, etc with values over 30m Euros and if they're ever transfer listed by request the club demands 60m at least.

Yes, I completely agree. I quickly lose patience in FM2014, buying players has always been my favorite part of the game. Even my plan B or C became largely impossible or I have to make downright stupid offers.

I also find in Italy, big teams make stupid co-ownership bids for my players (over their current value) then in a year when it expires don't even bid for his half effectively just giving me money for nothing

Fuck you, SI

I'm neither United or Zenit.

Hahaha, maybe it wasn't a straightforward €100M in cash? Plus by 2027, the 100M barrier will probably have been broken due to inflation alone. This is all assuming Tishin is the best ever and Zenit have been extremely successful. It's still absolutely insane if not.
