Sheffield Utd Vs Liverpool [RESULT]

Chelsea2001

Senior Squad
Sheffield UTD win 2-1:evil: (H) Neil Mellor got Liverpool in front with a header after 35mins. Two Tonge goals in 6 mins though got Sheffiled UTD the win, first with a left footed shot, then 8 minutes from time he lashed in a drive from a fumbled clearance(H) Wayne Allison almost scored a third but hit his shot wide:o

this makes the 2nd leg very interesting indeed.
A ManU v Liverpool is most defenitly not a certainty.

congrats...

well done to sheff utd! watchin the highlights now. hopefully they can follow the result up wen they play at anfield, altho it wont be easy!

i think it wud b really good for division 1 if sheff u get to the final, even if they dont win it, it wont do the nationwide any harm at all.

It has almost been a habit for at a Nationwide team to reach the Worthington Cup final once every two seasons. Birmingham did it a couple of years ago, and before that there was Tranmere and Middlesbrough. Sheffield United has a lead and has a decent chance of reaching Cardiff.

Michael Tonge has been billed as a big star of the future and the two goals he scored does him no harm at all.

But Sheffield United hasn't really played a decent team away from home in the competition yet. The trip to Anfield will test them to the full. They could still come out on top, I believe.

Crikey, Liverpool couldn't even beat an egg these days, and today proved that their defending is shambolic.

Liverpool were set to spend 3 mil on tonge in the summer but now it looks like itas gonna cost 5 mil , No really dissapointments
our defence wass avg but at the same time we have an away goal and should still go through .. the worthington cup is not very important if you ask me ... but it would be nice to win as atleast we'd grantee ourselves a spot in europe which at this stage is looking touch and go

I just slander other teams  If you think that's slander, you should here the stuff I say about scum aka Manchester United, or the stuff I say about Tottenham!

What, my opinion that liverpool would be caned twice a year by Sheff Utd isn't a valid one? I think they would beat them twice.

I think it did have some meaning, I see him staying with Sheffield United, thats my point of view.

New fan, old fan, never a fan, still doesn't blow over the fact that LPool are playing without a brain.

To me , people in this forum concentrate way too much on fan integrity and less to the argument against their teams.

And it boggles that a moderator encourages ignoring posts.
The whole idea of a forum is to be opinionated, to editorialize and to argue.

There was a time in this forum, when the Man Utd and Liverpool fans would give serious argument defending their teams, now all they do is:

1) moan about how many chances they miss
2)moan about glory hunting Arsenal fans
3)moan about Arsenal fans' arrogance

At least the Newcastle fans have passion, and the Chelsea fans have class.
