I don't understand why anyone is picking subs from countries like Albania - surely they are going to be eliminated before your first team players whom they would come on for?

I've only been picking subs from the bigger teams - even if they're not starting at least they'll still be in the competition

Yeah, picking reserves from big teams is probably the best way to go but I was lazy and instead I picked all my subs from Croatia and Wales, hoping they advance.

The ideal strategy in this stage would be trying to get players from teams you think might go far in the competition, preferably starters or at least that usually get subbed on during matches.

Since there are few of those left to pick in the subs round, one must follow one of the strategies you guys mentioned.
While both are valid, I did prefer to get players from NTs with higher profiles and hope those players get minutes.
Having a bench composed by players (even if absolute starters) from NTs bound to have an early exit seemed a bit too risky for me.

Completely agree. I am stuck with Nolito on the bench now and looks like he may well start for Spain given his good form. I have Nani and Calhanoglu on my wings in the starting lineup and nothing I can do about it now.
