Saviola Off To Monaco - Loan

I don't think is that stupid. I prefer Larsson and Etoo.

Besides, he has a too high salary. We save some money loaning him to Monaco, where he will play many games. Staying in Barça this year would be a waste of money for the club and a waste of time for the player.

Next year he can return if there's place for him in the team.

just like Riquelme, i think Saviola has played his last game for Barca.

Sucks for Barca that Saviola left. Now I wonder who they will bring in to replace him? With only 1 day left b4 the market closes its either they stick with what they got or hurriedly sign a replacement.

Wiltord is linked. But they really dont need 3 strikers. Giuly and Ronaldinho can play in attack, and even if someone gets injured theyll just change formation.

Dream Team

Starting XI
2 players per position. Eto'o+Larsson=2.

It's a shame that Larsson will be benched.

Another striker to be benched wouldn't be a shame, would be stupid and a waste of money. For that role of third striker we can get a player from the youth teams, but it would be too much bad luck that Larsson and Eto'o get injured.

big clubs generally have 4 strikers or more.

Real Madrid : Raul, Ronaldo, Owen, Morientes

Juventus : Miccoli, Del Piero, Trezeguet, Zalayeta, (Di Vaio's replacement.)

AC Milan : Shevchenko, Inzaghi, Crespo, Tomasson

Inter : Too many :crazyboy:

So Barca are only gonna have Eto'o and Larsson? Depth is a big factor if a team wants to win the league.

He is a great player.

It is a loss of a great player for the season for Barcelona.

But, If Barça are going to only play with one striker like they say they will then it will not be as big of a loss as what some of you guys are making it out to be.

Saviola will get much more time for Monaco. Good move for him.

I hope he comes back to haunt Barça like Moro did us. :D

Doubt it. Even if they did its still a dumb move.

Chevanton is injured and will be out for a while i heard. So its great for Monaco. They have a great attack.. maybe even better than last year (scary !)

I don't care at all having Saviola one year awy from Camp Nou.

and about riquelme, the only stupid move was to sign him ... he haven't done anything good in Barça or in Villareal. He haven't yet adapted to european football.

Hmm I dont know about that.. I have a feeling you were one of the thousands of Barca fans yelling and screaming like a pre-teen girl at a back street boys concert when Riquelme was signed by Barca.
It is a fact that Riquelme is having an extremely hard time adjusting to euro futbol (just like Burrito Ortega) but then again, who would've thought such a great player as Riquelme would've had a hard time adjusting anywhere, nobody in their right mind could've seen this coming, nobody! So to say that "I cant believe why Barca signed Riquelme blah blah blah" is just not necessary. Nobody would've/could've expected this to happen.

All the players are welcome. Then some of them answer on the field and some of them are a disappointment like Riquelme was.

I hope he has not that clause to play against us. When a team loan a player it's because that team have better players so they have nothing to fear. It's a coward clause.

I'm very impressed by Larsson and Eto'o is pure class so I agree with panxoman we won't miss him for one year. We save 5m that would be wasted on the bench and Saviola gets more minutes that at Barça he wouldn't have.

No, I wasn't screaming like a pre-teen girl when Riquelme arrived, but I expected much more from him. It's true nobody could expect such a poor perfomance, but now after all this time in Spain, he's not the great player he was supposed to be.

oh man loaning morientes last season and he turned out to be a gem, have a feeling gonna be the exact same with saviola, altho didn't deschamps say his first preference woulda been anelka or something. but to have saviola in ur team is awesome nonetheless :hump:

hope they meet barca in the champions league and saviola knocks em out :D

Saviola got his EU passport yesterday as well, so I really do not understand this move.

If Madrid can manage with four strikers(Ronaldo, Raul, Morientes, Owen) then why can't Barcelona manage with three(Eto'o, Larsson, Saviola)?

Doesn't make much sense to me.
