Road to FIFA World Cup 06 - Disappointing?

Looks fantastic , WOW ! ... But its FIFA06 with new clothes ! Ive just seen a few clips from movies taken at the 360tour (glasgow Lighthouse) and the running shooting passing is FIFA 06 but painted over with these fantastic next-gen graphics ...

I admit I love PES, but Im no fanboy (at 48 I'll never be a boy again) Id love FIFA to have the ball physcis and gameplay to match PES (I had FIFA06) It now lays gathering dust, it was said by MS that some of the 1st wave of games coming out would be little better than graphically enhanced versions of games released before the 360 makes it debut ! FIFA RTWC is one of them ..

If EA say that this FIFA for the xbox360 is brand new and has better gameplay ball physics and so on , well if that is the case , then from the movies Ive seen , EA can't do "Football" games and they would be better off handing it over to someone who can... Someone said its like Ice Hockey on grass, when the ball is on the deck it is !

I've got PES5 too. I admit the gameplay is superior to Fifa , (above all the ball physics ) although not so much as the majority of the pes fans want to think...
PES is certainly awesome to play against human opponent, but playing against the cpu is a joke. So much cheating that the player's stats don't seem to matter. Every cpu player is controling the ball like Maradona while my players seem to belong to some regional league, no matter what team I play with :nape:
And I'm not talking about the referee, pure rubbish too !

tbh the "next gen" graphics dont seem to be that far ahead of current gen, i was expecting a little more movement in the shirts and hair but maybe it's just me

I can prove it that Prue National team are in fifa 06 RTWC for 360

I don’t see Peru there but that's OK, I believe you... where can I log on to see what you pasted?

Oh, is Peru wearing their real uniform (White shirt with red stripe going across the chest from upper left to lower right) or just a generic one. Does it look like EA has the actual license for Peru? Let me know if you really know this.

Thanks man!

Aunque usted, no lo crea :funny: ... a mi tambien me agarro sorprendido. But if Hungary, Finland and China are in FIFA 2005-06, why cant we?

Soy Perucho pe... If Peru is in the game I would be a happy man. But if I was from Equador, I would be upset since Equador is being left out despite the fact that they made it to WC 2006. Well they are in there for real so, I guess they are to happy to care about a game. :lui:

You said it just perfectly...

Firstly.....almost all Fifa-affiliated footballing nations & territories(even the likes of American Samoa & Maldives) take part in qualifying for the WC. That will probably come up to a hefty 150++ teams...way above the announced 72 teams in the game. Were EA making a RTWC campaign as part of FIFA06 then they could be forgiven for leaving out many of the smaller teams. However, EA have explicitly called this game a RTWC edition, so how can they only include the European qualifying campaign?? :nape:

Many have drawn comparisons to FIFA 2002 which i believe is wrong. FIFA 2002 was essentially a regular FIFA game with a WC qualifying mode included & a crap-load of NT's(almost all the countries from UEFA, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL & AFC) besides the usual club teams. Mostly unlicensed & generic though....but you could easily edit them with the in-game creation center. I doubt such a feature will be included in FIFA RTWC 2006.

I suppose rport03 hit the nail on the head with his post. This game will just be a showpiece, nothing more than a preview of what the XBOX 360 will be graphically capable of. A World Cup game will definitely come out. But it will definitely just include the qualified WC teams & a few other random teams. But this entire setup leaves people like me, who enjoyed taking my home country (crappy as it is) all the way thru the qualifiers to the World Cup, very dissapointed.

Well said… you wrapped it up nicely. I tried to be more articulate but you did that for me.

Thanks for posting! :rockman:

hmmm i saw an ad of fifa 06 on 360 on tv today while i was watching australia v uruguay and it looked no different from normal fifa tbh all the difference i could see was, grass, hair movement and that's about it i thought shirts should move more realistically instead of having this great gap of air between body and shirt plus i think they should have the sweat system from nba even though its a little over dramatised it lookes real

Be my guest & splash out your cash then for another poor effort by EA :)

Is not only for Fifa both Madden and NBA Live are stripped down of featues like Franchise mode. While NBA 2K6 has all the features that curren gen games have.

ea games are being built from the ground up for the new generation consoles, but they did not have a lot of time so is just a taste of whats upcoming.

nba2k and the take two sports games are just ports of current gen games, thats why they are keeping the features.

Whatever anyone in this world say, I'm soo buying the new XBox 360 Just to play "FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup"... :hump:

This game is a whole new world of gaming, and we all must give EA a special thanks for such great game, even if they had only 2 teams, and I don't care about the teams as much as I care about the game play.

This game is gate into the future of gaming, and I'm not going to throw away the opportunity of playing this game for the sake of missing some team from I don't what football organization!

People, please stop arguing about this game like if it was meant to be perfect! Simply compare it to older versions of ANY football game in the world, compare everything, not only how many teams and how many players, for god sake!

This is the first game of it's kind, so give EA a chance.

Peace! :)

I don’t think we expect this game to be “perfect.” We just want it to include some of the features we’ve all being asking for since FIFA 2002. It has almost been 4 years man; give me a break. And it is not the occlusion of S. American or Caribbean clubs/national squads that we protest. It is game content as a whole. Heck, the game had more options 4 years ago than it does now.

And you know what? Gameplay is not everything! Not for everyone, at least not to the degree that it matters to you. We all look for certain things; I understand that but for 4 years we (those who dish out the cash) have been begging EA to please add some of the features their older games had. So far EA has told us (with their actions) that they don’t give a crap about what we want.

So look, I see your point, but you have to also see ours. :jambo:

Yeah you are right! Where is the uniform for Peru? The uniform is probably a generic one. And without an editing option (4 years + and still no Editing options like those in FIFA 2002).

EA still refuses to include an Editing tool that could help us change the way uniforms looked etc (for console gaming). No way to create a team still... but what else is new?
