That is way too much for a player of his age. What if he turns into a flop. Though he is a great player to me. I still love man united and think they will get the premiership. This just makes it more exciting.

Sure Reyes is a great player and all but I would have defiantely thought that Arsenal would streghten their defense b4 they stregthened their front line.

Anywayz I guess they got a great player but I still think they need bigger numbers, though it seems their youth players are doing well so....

According to Sevilla's Presidant its more than what Madrid are paying for Beckham(£25m over a few years, most of that has been paid since Makelele was sold :)).

So its got to be more than £25m then, plus the true fee is "undisclosed", maybe the clubs don't want to leak the real fee to save embarrasment.

Are you kidding - our defense is has conceded the least in the Premiership so far. Our defense is much, much improved from last year, with Pascal Cygan showing his true ability and Kolo Toure being an absolute revelation.

Good signing for us. Reyes I mean.

Now all the Arsenal players will love him, like the man utd players love C.Ronaldo. As soon as he plays bad, everyone will diss him because they dont like arsenal, then arsenal fans will diis them back, protecting him. Ready for some deja vu? :rolleyes:

As for him being a flop, Reyes is 20, has been playing first team football with Sevilla for two years now. His reputation has been on the rise consistently and after his performances this season not just for club, but for Spain as well have hardened that.

The one thing I ask you to consider is the fact that this isn't a flash buy. Arsene has had this kid watched for a year and a half now, EVERY game that he's played, which wasn't the case with GvB or Jeffers or Cygan or even Lehmann. The last player we followed with this zeal was Mark van Bommel, and the club/Arsene decided that he wasn't worth the 15 million. Even though he was an established and reputed midfielder.
That itself leads me to conclude that this kid DEFINITELY has the sort of potential that people value so highly.

From what I've read, Arsenal are not paying a huge amount up front. Our initial payment lies between 9 and 11 million pounds, in addition to that we'll be paying around 5 to 6 million over the course of his contract. The other added payments will be based on appearances/goals etc. Which means that if he proves that he isn't up to the mark, he won't play...meaning we don't have to pay.

Arsene's smart in the sense that when he buys into potential, he pays with that in mind too. I don't think we gave Everton 8 million right away. Remember Inamoto's transfer...the club didn't reveal the deal explicitly and in the end we just had him on loan.

If he plays crap, he sits. Our current record signing is Wiltord, you don't see him week in, week out.

But Reyes will play good.

just for the record, Reyes is miles ahead of Ronaldo;)

Reyes have been European Champions in the U-21 of 2002 with Spain, only have that title. I think he is too young yet, and he have to learn too many things, Arsenal fans will see he is pure skill, but sometimes he need a brain, he is too young :P

This evening he was leaving the Sevilla aiport saying bye to his family like and crying like a child hehehehe.



it seems he is going to the war hehe, instead going to another country to play :)

I've heard this now:

Arsenal will pay only €15 millions now and,
if the next 5 years Reyes plays more than 25 matches Arsenal would pay +€2,5 millions

So if Reyes plays good, the price would be €27,5 millions, if not would be only €15 millions.

He has scored 20ish goals from 60 appearances from a left wing position.

He has 3 senior caps for Spain.

He was Sevilla's penalty taker.
