Admitted, Madrid played better than Marseille, but they made some nasty tackles in the end, the worst were Guti and Bravos(?) two-footers that could have ended with Marseille players getting longterm-injuries but luckily didn't.

JK yea we didnt play great aginst them but we should get better.

roberto carlos should be named man of the match. he caused all sorts of problems going forward and had a hand in at least three of the goals scored for real. he even did a good job playing defense. it's amazing to see how much ground he covers during a match.
the holes in the defense are pretty obvious...especially with the commentators mentioning it every couple of minutes. they're gonna have to get that worked out before they start playing some better teams. but i was very impressed with carlos and salgado pushing forward. raul looked frustrated with a lack of balls headed his way and ronaldo's second goal was terrific. great finish. he should have been given a yellow for his dive but then should have been awarded a penalty for the second dive.
this was the first time i saw beckham playing for real and was pretty impressed with him running back and playing (or trying to) defense. he had some terrific long balls and passes and actually played the ball a little, which was refreshing to see. he and zidane were unlucky to score.
and...i mentioned this before, but figo...looks like an old lady with his haircut. hahahha. had his moments and i always like his penalty kicks and his stutter steps. haha.
