Good news about both Van der Vart and Robihno....On the VdV side, Hamburg have set the asking price at 13M, we offered 7M last week...I presume that 13 is a v ery accesible figure for us and plus we might be selling Baptista to Roma for about that, what a great trade off, Baptista out VdV in...that would be nice....

Also on the Robihno side as many of us dont want him to leave, I know I dont, Schuster has come out and categorically stated he doesnt want him to leave no matter what happens with CR. So that being said, I hope this thing with Robson can get sorted out so we can move on...

Also heard that if this CR deal falls thru and I hope it does, we are going after Villa who is valued at 40M.....anyway...that's the news

also we have our first pre-season game tomorrow, against LASK a side from the austrian Bundesliga...the first official lineup of Madrid 08-09 should look a lot like last years! hehe

Well I am back from vacacion and the C.Ronaldo transfer look like is loosing force. Read about the Soldaldo transfer. They got a great striker for so little damn ! I would like if would get Villa. He would be a great addition to the team.

We just won our first Friendly...3-2 against LASK of Austria they are they current league leaders in Austria...


Anyway nothing really has changed from last year from what I saw althougth we were missing 12 players due to various reasons, anyway Scorers were Raul, Baptista and Saviola

The noteworthy one was Robben who is playing as if he was already in mid-season form, Sneijder impressed as well and Guti had a few magical moments...

anyway, not so impressive was Javi Garcia who was played out of position due to our many missing men on defense; He is definetly not a CB, but anyway, its pre-season, dont really care much except to see tactical,formation changes and possibly some new faces and we all know we got none of that so far

Strong reportrs that we might be closing down on VdV, the deal might be closed by Saturday when we play Hamburg SV in the Emirates cup...I would be happy with that...also Calderon has confirmed, we are not going after a forward this offseason, he trust in Raul, Van Gol, Saviola and Higuain...says there is no room for one more...and i tend to agree...so We might be looking at only plan A or B.......Cristiano Ronaldo is plan A and VdV is plan A1/2 since its very likely he might be signed by next week

I'm back again, and for good now.

About J. Garcia..I don't get why we got him back for 4 million euros? I mean he won't be a good back up CB and he is like 5th or 6th in line to play CB and as a DM/CM he is also pretty damn far down the list. I know he is a DM/CM but the club brought him back as a cover for both spots although I don't get why we did not get a better player to be that CB/DM/CM combo player for us. Anyway hopefully he won't play too much as a CB this season.

Also the recent interview with Calderon basically states that we are close to getting VDV which makes little snese now. Why did we sell Granero to than get someone that plays that same exact spot??? I don't like that but at the very least we have a buy back clause on him so that we can get him back when Guti retires I guess....or just buy another superstar when that comes out. Calderon also states that we won't sell Robinho to finance the C.R. deal if it happens as we have enough funds to pay for it and keep both players on the same team. He states that Robinho will only be sold if he wants out which at the moment he does not want out. (Most of the talking from before was being done by his agent). He also states that we will not be going after a replacement #9 which is a big mistake IMO. Raul and Ruud are both getting older, Higuain will be a future superstar, and Saviola is meh. Anyway thats about all the news from me. Oh and Gol TV will be showing the Emirates Cup, too bad I won't be able to see the game.

So nothing much to report on today otherthan that VDV will be coming no matter what...maybe even before this weekend in which he will sit out of the friendly games and be presented on Monday. At first it was believed that he would come if C.R. failed but now he will be here regardless of what happens with C.R. Anyway the good thing about VDV is that he can basically play anywhere past the midfield.

Also about Ronaldo, it's being reported that he will return to Manchester next week and tell them that he wants a transfer out and that his only wish is to transfer to us. Ya right, I doubt he will grow a pair and finally sort this **** all out with his club but that's what their saying so lets wait and see.

Yea it has been kind of dead in here but maybe it will pick up once the actual season starts. So what are your opinions of the other teams in la liga? Barca made some really weird transfers IMO, I mean Keita was overpayed for and not that great. Hleb is another meh player IMO that adds nothing that Barca does not already have. At least they got rid of Oleguer:( If only they would sell Eto'o and depend on Henry to score goals:biggrinx:That would be great, or even better if they actually got Adebayor LOL!!Villarreal look a strong team again this season and Atleti will almost surely still suck no matter who they sign. Sevilla are a big question mark for me. Valencia are broke (with a huge debt) and still in big trouble although their individual players are still good. Lets see if they can do anything as a team.

As for our own team I am glad that we did not go out on a spending spree and get a lot of players this season as we really don't need to do that. However I am a bit pissed at the whole transfer saga. There is no reason why we should have spent so much time on C.R., I would have liked to bring in a replacement #9 right now instead of waiting till RVN leaves as Raul will retire with us. Higuain is our future superstar and Saviola will be the backup but anyway that is our front 4 for the next season. I don't like that we let Granero go only to keep Baptista as well as buying VDV...not really happy with the club about that but oh well. Good luck to him at Getafe and who knows we just might buy him back in the future. Also good luck to Soldado. Can't wait for Garay to join us next season and I pray to God that Ramos does not get injured a lot as our backups ( Torres and Salgado) looked rather poor last season. Everything else is looking pretty damn good, now if only Robben would not get injured.

One last thing about 2 of our Cantera players. David Moreno for some very odd reason joined Almeria to play for their.....B team. Yes their B team. He looked like he would be a great player in the future but oh well. Also Parejo is set to join QPR on a 2 year loan deal and he looks like a fantastic player. Lets just hope that by the time he is ready we will actually use the guy and not just do what we have been doing lately.

david moreno joined almeria's b team????????!!!!! thats mad i hope its a loan? we really are starting to make some stupid moves with our youth team players, i hope calderon get his finger out of his ass and stops making stupid decisions.

So anyway we played our #2 friendly this seaso and we beat Hamburg 2-1 goals by Rudd, and Dani Parejo...I will note that Juanmi Callejon played a rather solid game at RB, when he did...Salgado was decent althought he gave balls away..and Torres sucked....It was also nice to see Robihno and to see him wearing the captain's armband after he came in when Salgado left....again Javi Garcia is not a CB....


on to transfer news:

VdV did not play against us which increases the assumption that he will be presented on Monday for us, althought so far the official traffic doesnt say that...CR seems like monday will be a definitive day in the saga, he will see Ferguson and the rumors are that he will tel him he wants to go...also Villalonga the new president of Valencia confirmed that he blocked David Villa's transfer to us earlier last week, as one of his first acts, as you all know we dont get along with Valencia...


as far as our football, we look earily like last year, flashes of brillians from the mid to the forwards and flashes of incompetence from the mids to the defense.....we need a couple re-inforcements that's for sure

So far Salgado is proving us all wrong he has been along with Heinze our best defender...Arsenal are IMO one of the three better sides in Europe and althought they have dominated posession and shots we had the better one, also consider we are playing with some backups, almost our entire defense is a mock up and we are playing with guys that have played two consecutive games now, as opposed to arsenal who have a practically new lineup with them for this game
