How do you know he trains harder than everyone? I'm sure there many footballer who train extremely hard, maybe even more than CR, and aren't nearly as good.

Puyol and Zanetti, but none of the superstars. Falcao is the closest one.

Puyol has been unlucky with injuries though lately. But the guy loves football and puts his body on the line on every occasion haha. Zanetti is just a freak of nature, a bit like Giggs. Some players have just good genes.

Hah, saying someone doesn't get injured because he "keeps himself in shape" is a bit silly. Sure it helps if you do your most but soooo many injuries are just unluckiness, and genetics matter a lot too.

If you read and listen to people talking about Zanetti (coaches and partners) you realise he is not only a freak of nature. There is also a lot of training, rest, right nutrition and an iron mindset behind.

Same goes to Puyol, who grt injured most of the times for having no self control. Never knows when to stop.

But yeah, its a fact that genetic matters and that Zannetti somehow looks younger than 15 years ago.

Yeah probably. The best players get more protection from referees anyway. But yes some players get injured often just because of unluck.

Puyol case not knowing when to stop isn't taking good care of your body, and ronaldos knees and thyroid were fucked from the steroids in the netherlands

Messi weren't that good in 2007, Ronaldo fucked up his knees in Italy and never been the same since then. He even acknowledged he couldn't rotate the knee and only run forward being 24/25 years old. He was the first patellar tendon rupture case ever in football.

Even after the injury he was still a top striker. Wasn't running as much but scored lots of goals. His style changed but he was still very effective.

Messi needs to take a lesson from this, if he wants to avoid to continue having constant injuries.
