Question of the Week: Who shouldn't have left ?

I would add Ruud van Nistelrooy too

Why? We did pretty well without him. He scored most of our goals but when he left, our style of play changed and we won 4 titles in 5 seasons or something like that. With him, we only won 1 title. I am not blaming it on him but I don't think it was a mistake to let him go. It was about time and he was getting old.

I'm not saying it's a mistake or that it was an unnecessary move. I meant I enjoyed watching him tear apart everyone. I just didn't put it in the right words

Zlatan

Fan Favourite
Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He frankly left right at the moment he was finally starting to become awesome. He was a lazy-ass heavily underachieving prick before that, we spend 3 years trying to get him in line before he left for Juve at a time when he was finally becoming the great player that he is and always promised to be.

Same goes in a way for Chris Eriksen, who also left right at the moment he truely became our starplayer and finally started to pay back some of his enormous promise. Could've gave back so much more for all the training and experience we gave him.

I'm quite suprised that any other United fan hasn't mentioned Cristiano.. Yeah he wanted to move on to his "dream club" after winning everything with us, but i was quite devastated when he left. I'm not gonna mention the obvious ones that have been mentioned before in this thread.

I think Eriksen made the wrong decision, personally. Has not shone at Tottenham and is too young and unproven to be given too many breaks if he doesnt make a swift impact. Should have done a season or two more with you guys, then he would have been of age and ability to move to a big club and be a starter and maybe a star.

Yaya Toure, Ibrahimovic

Has to be Zlatan. Although, had he stayed, it would have meant Messi on the right wing and less goals (less Ballon d'Ors too?) for him.

Toure Yaya is an obvious one too

if only Ajax had a way of retaining their stars ... it was sad to see Ajax 1995 dismantled, piecemeal, as Bosman transfers; but at least the world got to see the potential of that team, who won everything ... for that reason I'd pick the Ajax 2002/03 team as one I'd have wanted to see kept together ...

Only if 96-97 squad had played CL instead of Cup Winners Cup...

EDIT: 19 fucking years old

Yeah, I watch that video every year at least once. Doesn't seem as amazing after 50 from Messi, but God was he amazing. Until about 2-3 years ago I thought he was the best player ever at 19 years old.

Messi weren't that good in 2007, Ronaldo fucked up his knees in Italy and never been the same since then. He even acknowledged he couldn't rotate the knee and only run forward being 24/25 years old. He was the first patellar tendon rupture case ever in football.

Ronaldo was great. But the way Messi and Cristiano score every season is just unbelievable. I'm glad to be alive at the time when those two play.

You only imagine how good Ronaldo would have been if had him trained like CR and never injured. Ronaldo's and Messi's insane talent is genetic, Cristiano made himself, he's obviously very talented but managed to compete against a monster like Messi by training harder than anyone else and a huge ambition. He's the best sportsman in the world IMO.

How do you know he trains harder than everyone? I'm sure there many footballer who train extremely hard, maybe even more than CR, and aren't nearly as good.

Just look at him. He doesn't drink or smoke. Very rarely gets injured, because he takes care of his body and is the ultimate athlete in my opinion.
