post your vote, should ea dissin threads be allowed or deleted?

just out of interest who thinks there should be a new rule saying that you can't post pointless threads just saying the game's crap, or just cos your not good at say all the new features are crap, cos this happens every year and its getting kinda old now, i mean yeah you should be allowed to post criticsm but its getting beyond a joke these days. if it was up to some of these people fifa 2004 would be fifa 98 (which was good IN ITS DAY, but has nothing on fifa04). If you think threads just dissing the game for the sake of it should be deleted then post your vote, if not then post your vote too. and i aint making this thread to get a bunch of people dissing me i just wanna see what the majority of people think.

hey mods please keep an eye on this poll cos if the majority think the pointless criticsm threads should be deleted then please make a new rule saying you cant criticise the game just for the sake of it, but i'm not tryin to stop people from pointing out bugs and posting their problem etc.

there is difference between criticism.. and saying the game suckz or EA suckz.. specially since most people that say that.. then just add "it sucks because is impossible to dribble" which is not true.. or some other stupid crap.. that makes them look like either.. they suck and are pissed cause they cant win as easy as 2003.,.. or they havent played the game more than 1 time.

ps: this is a privately owned forum.. therefore you give up your right to free speech when you sign up and accept regulations. Forums are moderated and they can censor anything they want.

Paying customers the world over are more than entitled to say whatever they like about the company or product they are dealing with or have purchased. That is a 'free citizen's' cash spending individual's right.

If someone wants to say EA sucks then so be it, EA are big and rich enough to take it. Any company that supresses feedback good or bad, is on the slippy slope to bankruptcy and ruination, its more commonly known as taking the money and running.

So far as pointless rantings are concerned, well they're not to the person who posted the so called 'rant'. Maybe to others who have had a different experience of the product will find that a pointless rant though.

This is not a reason for attemtping to hijack the forums for the exclusive use of the pro EA users where only the fan boys viewpoints are allowed.

And where does one actually draw the line here? Who decides a post is a pointless rant and not a genuine complaint about the product or service for that particular person?

In supressing viewpoints of certain groups or even individuals, your are indulging in open discrimination.

Forums are a free press where freedom of speech and expression are allowed, NO ONE on here is entitled to stop ANYONE from posting what they like, so long as it is not racist, political, abusive or personal against an individual.

Criticising EA, SG or any other major organisation's products, services and customer relations is fair game for all, especially if you have PAID over cash to obtain your viewpoint, like buying FIFA04 for example.

major flaw in your argument.. this is not an official EA forum. is owned by an individual.. and as such he can put whatever rules he wants... like if you have someone coming over to your place for a public party.. but you dont want anyone to smoke.. or no alcohol is served..

i think threads with "constructive criticism" should be allowed..but threads with comments like "EA sucks" and talking about EA being a money hungry company shouldnt be allowed.

I believe that would should delete anything that is offensive, saying EA sucks is an opinion, but if the people in charge do not like what you said, then delete it. Private forums, especially being global, do not have the same free speech rights as in the United States for example. The way one contexts their words can change the meaning, but almost everything is considered offensive to someone, but where the line is drawn is most important. If the mods consider deleting these threads, then maybe some guidelines must be set to show what is acceptable behavior and what is not, otherwise a bigger fight will erupt on why was this thread deleted and not that one. Plus, by spending money on EA does not give you to gripe at the people at the forums, write a letter to EA to direct your anger, you may say and write anything you want, but we do not have to look or read it, so choose where to put your remarks.

I wouldnt care.
But its the same 10-15 people who keep saying the same thing over and over again. Instead of actually playing the game a bit longer and finding that OTB works well, and dribbling is not that hard.
I think their threads should be deleted.

the worst thing that can be said and i personally hate it very much is when they have pes-influenced comments like its impossible to dribble(shows how ignorant and noobish you are, and also they said it becos of the ease of dribbling in pes3) or the shot goes 100mph, (which i do not think it is true, its just that in pes3 the shots are quite weak, esp if you compare it to the speed of the game) or the gameplay sucks(IMO the gameplay in pes3 is superb, extremely playable and fun, but fifa will come tops in realistic gameplay, because pes is far too fluent for me)or slow reactions by players, which for me is quite true, but not that horrible as some suggest(because they played pes3 and the player reactions,turning speed etc are done at superhuman speed) for me i think both games are great, but pes3 will score higher due to its smoother and more flexible gameplay and much better game interface, but fifa will very close, probably 9 for pes3 and 8.5 for fifa. both games are great, both have their weaknesses and strengths, so i feel that it is extremely unfair and hurting to see fifa fans being ridiculed for enjoying it, and abuses being hurled, which happens in pes vs fifa, pes , and this forum

I totally agree that threads such as "fifa suckz" etc. are pointless, should be deleted and don't help anybody. However, critical input - whether you agree with it or not - should be allowed unless it just turns into a abuse thread. Sadly there seems to be as much abuse created purely because of difference of opinion than anything else regardless if whther the thread is setting out to criticize the game or not. For instance, if I posted a thread saying "I find the collision mapping in FIFA 2004 seems off in terms of fouls, do you think they should concentrate in it more in the next version?" then the reactions will generally be:
- but PES3 doesn't have real uniforms
- FIFA rulez, f*** off back to the Konami board
- You're just sh*t at the game, I make a perfect tackle every time.

In what way do these kind of replies help the game develop any more than somebody posting "fifa blows!"?

Surely, constructive criticism is something needed to balance out all the ass kissing which in effect, is as useless as the flaming. Nothing wrong with saying "great game" but denouncing every persons issues with the game with abuse is as bad as anything else that is posted on here.

This is a perfect example of an ok comment. The guy prefers FIFA but gives valid reasons without "fifa rulez" or other equally unconvincing points! I don't care if you prefer FIFA or PES but it's nice to show you have a degree of objectivity in making your judgement. Unfortunately, the majority of people on here have an argument for FIFA consisting of "fifa rockz"!

My opinion is that there are bound to have silly threads in every forums. Espeicially if it is a GAMING forum. If some kids say "EA sucks man, i can't dribble past the damn defenders", then why not someone help them out and give them some tips.

The real pointless threads are those who don't explain why it sucks or rulez for example:

Thread topic: EA SUCKS!
Thread message: BYE EA FOREVER!

these are the real spammers and deserved to get the thread locked, and warned. I don't think mods should just delete threads without giving a reason cause the same guy would come back and make a fuss.

If the same idiot don't realise his mistakes and keep posting the same threads, simply delete the thread and ban him.
