Meh, mostly the striker (read: topscorer) is fans player of the year. And just like in real life it's mostly wisely to put a defensive minded player as capt.

I put my def. mid as a captain, has good influence and decisions (15 and 17). Sunday Oliseh, does a great work plus he came on a free.

Players need to be in contact with their captain as often as possible. Putting a GK, D, M R/L, or F as captain means the opposite of the pitch will have little contact, and thus feel unsupported if the determination/decisions/creativity is too low in the player.

Just a question, i dont know if that happened to you guys, but, when i put my striker as a captain he started to score like a mad man.

Did that happen to you too? That was the case with Ronaldo in my Liverpool game back in CM4.

Maybe he got extra confidence? This can happen in real life too (opposite can happen too, see van der Vaart this season.)

Yeah. Maybe he felt he was the real deal or something. In my last season at Liverpool when Ronaldo was the captain i got a quadruple, plus he scored 2 goals in a CL final against Milan.
