i'm hoping for a different shooting system, one with curled shots...

i think the passing and defense is awesome, some things here and there they may wanna touch up

goalie standing still could be fixed...

i also hope for a PES5 PS3 launch... and maybe some more official licensing

The AI have to be improved, especially the GK's AI.
I dont want to see the keeper standing there making no reaction when the ball hits the post even if the ball is from a low, slow shot.

And more tricks will be fantastic. :D

About time. PES PC would DEFINITELY benefit from a proper dedicated PC conversion.

i couldn't agree more, SWOS was the best, if they could only emulate the format with improved graphics etc...

I will like to see the keepers bug removed and online lag should be reduced or eliminated. The lag is hazardous.

Also Konami should specialize on making few video games instead of trying to make soo many games the same year. Before their specialty used to be just soccer but now they make 7/8 different video games apart from soccer, and that is not good cos they will not have enough time and manpower in perfecting WE/PES.

That is what happened to EA sports, they have their hand in almost every brand of games that come into the market. In order to make profits, they end of making crappy games.

Even if they don't emulate SWOS (and I am 100% certain they won't), let's hope that they at least do something with the custom leagues and cups and ML structure.

The game has 200 teams yet we can only play with 32 teams in a cup!! What is so hard about allowing us to play with 128 teams so we can have a true FA Cup?

We cannot even play true Champs' League format with home and away in group stages. This is not exactly hard to implement. It's 2005, for fock sake!! Perhaps they are deliberately saving it for a future release so they can declare it as an amazing new "must buy" feature :nape: .

And for goodness sake, please let's not have a ridiculous 8 teams in ML Division 2. I still find this unbelievable. And an FA Cup only for Div 1 teams...do me a favour .

They spend huge amounts of time of adding intricate details to the ML and all those pages of after-match stats which nobody understands or bothers to look at, yet they get so many of the simple league/cup structural things wrong!!! Year after year, they totally miss the target.

If only they were a British games company....

I remember reading somewhere that PES5 was already finished, and that Konami had already began working on PES6. I don't know how much of it is true, but I think it is, since most people already speculate that PES5 is just going to be a small facelift and not a huge upgrade.

Future PES games just have to be more customisable. So that you can literally create any league/cup/career you want. With loads more teams, it would truly be miraculous if you could just create any tournament or career you wanted from scratch, shaping the structure of things etc. This may be too much to wish for, but one day...

improve gameplay-Doh!
more options in kit editor, i.e., striped jerseys or creating jerseys, shorts socks from scratch, nike logos on shorts and socks, more flexible emblem editor
Make game harder (Y)

In match center should be option that allow playing two matches against each other team on a home and away basis. That would be small but but great thing!

Starting XI
Jus a few tweaks to the gameplay will make this game a whole lot betta.

-Animations: Few new shooting animations- full body realisitic shooting style
- Better 1 on 1 chances of scoring being able to place the ball past the goalie and not havin to chip or take it round the keeper all the time
-Better first touch from a long ball into ur path
- Better getting the ball into the danger zone from crosses

How about online capabilities like downloading kits and ball textures for the console versions, much easier than spending hours editing kits or using Maxdrive.X-port,just attach a modem and voila!

Pro Evolution Soccer 5
PS2/PC/XBox - PAL Regions Only

Release: October 2005
Price: PS2/XBox £29.99 - PC £17.99

Konami will be releasing what could quite possibly the final installment of Pro Evolution Soccer on the current consoles in October of 2005. Details of Pro Evolution Soccer 5 are few and far between at this time. However, some features which you can expect to see are:

Improved Graphics
Once again player models and animations will be refined to look smoother than ever. Do not expect a huge over-haul in the graphics until the next-generation consoles, however.

New stadiums
Although not yet confirmed which new stadiums will be making an appearance in Pro Evolution Soccer 5, PESInsight expects at least 4 new stadiums to be in the game. Hopefully one of which will be Real Madrid's Bernabeu.

Online Play
Again, not confirmed, but Konami are hopeful that Pro Evolution Soccer 5 will feature online play on the Playstation 2, as well as XBox and PC. The latest release in Japan features Online Play on PS2, and, assuming this goes well, the game should also be online in Europe come the release in October.

Bigger Editing Mode
In Pro Evolution Soccer 5 you will now be able to create even more accurate kits than ever before. In PES4 we saw the introduction of a sponsor editor, but sadly many kit styles (especially striped shirts) were missing from the game. This will not be the case in Pro Evolution Soccer 5.

Thanks for the info, all though not an all round information disclosure, I think you can read between the lines. As per Seabass (Konami PES Dev) interviews, PES5 will have little or no room for any real improvment on the PS2.

I would say like the little posted by poorCH , you'll get a few more stadiums and maybe new offical leagues and kits but not much more! You may be able to edit leagues (I hope they allow you to build your own and not just have a 20 team template as per PES4).

As for gameplay and AI or any of the big changes that will be in 2006 with PES6 or whatever they call it then, on the PS3 Xbox360 and PC.
