I'm actually expecting a real bonanza with the next one. I just hope crosses and long shots are a bit more effective.

I've read it somewhere that slightly better graphics and better animation. But not really a major facelift because of the ps2 limitations already going to be reached. Gameplay-wise nothing out yet.

It will definitely be a noticeable improvement, but no more than it was from PES3 to PES4. They have squeezed almost as much as they can from the PS2, atleast graphically, so don't expect much in that department. With gameplay there are certainly elements they can improve though.

I don't really think that much can be changed. Konami said that they had a whole load of stuff to implement, but said the ps2 was too weak to implement them now.

I guess all they can do really is just adjust a few slight weaknesses; player balance, goalkeepers not being able to save at near post etc.

They said they're going to implement more tricks in this one, the elastico will be available! :lui:

But what I'd like to see most, are variations of shots. When players shoot on pes4/we8, its 90% of the time power drives, or slide shots, I want more placed curling shots, like Beckhams against Wales. I HAVE scored about 15 or so like that, but I want it able to press something like r1 and shoot, to do a different type of shot... Catch my drift?

I don't really mind how much they change it, as long as they don't make it worse! :clapwap:

One thing is for sure, no money will be leaving my bank account in order to play PES5. It's completely obvious that they have nothing else to offer on the PS2, so PES5 will simply feature a few superficial changes in a desparate attempt to create the impression of a new game.

Of course, PES5 on PS2 will be PES4 re-incarnated and the fanboys will be wanking away as they cream themselves over the "brand new, super-perfect gameplay which makes PES4 look like crap", although any objective person will realise that it is basically exactly the same as PES4 with very minor tweaking...and £35 for the privelege of playing the what is essentially an insignificant patch is simply laughable.

Unfortunately, if history is anything to go by, PES6 on PS3 will probably be a re-creation of PES5 (and unfortunately, PES5 will be much the same as PES4) but on a new machine called the PS3, (Konami happily admitted that PES1 on PS2 was basically an attempt to convert ISS Pro Evo 2 to a new machine, but were only too happy to charge £35 for the privilege of playing it), so PES7 (in 2007) is likely to be the next real step forward.

They release 3 versions of the same game every year, but make any real progress, on average, only once in every 3 years.

Happy wanking, fan boys.

I'd actually be quite happy to wait 2 years for PES5/WE9, so it had it's debut on the PS3. I think the game would benefit far more if they spent that time really improving things instead of rushing out a version that clearly won't be THAT much better, while having to develop a new engine for the PS3 at the same. Both games could suffer otherwise.

i'd like to see little superfluous detail, like bandage tape on ring fingers, taped up ankles (from the boot up to the shin, not just a strip) different wristbands, more boots, dynamic weather?, more customizing ability to each player to make a team more unique.

ML definitely needs to be looked at. I reckon SWOS still has one of the best management systems of any football game, although it was quite simplistic. They should use this as the basis for the ML and build a modernised version of it. I still love the fact that SWOS had every player from every league in every country, and you could play manage a lower div team in their own countries league all the way to the top. The transfer system was also a work of genius. How great would PES/WE be if they did this!

This could be improved...

-improved ONLINE PLAY
-a lot better goalkeeper(no standing bug)
-a lot more difficult lob shoot
-better shooting(with right foot)
-passing (not with wrong foot)
