you have to move that file into the mainfolder where your pes5 demo is installed. e.g. C:\Demos\PES5..

I tried to run your video but my Windows Media-player doesn't recognize the codec you use. What do you use?

Someone said that collisions were better than the previous installments (not comparing with Fifa).Hmmmmmmmm let's see then.

Nope they aren't.Oh and my player is going to control the ball and what happens??The cpu player kicks the ball whereas it should have been a foul with a yellow card.Nice game truly, lol :boohoo:

Yes, thank you, that worked. Strange, some AVI's I could play and others didn't. Fraps fixed the problem. Looks like not all AVI's are the same...
I have a similar problem with running asf-movies. A long time I was able to run this format, but suddenly I cannot anymore.

Has somebody a solution for that?

I already downloaded the newest Mediaplayer with the updated codecs.

My first impressions

I've played about 20 games now. Here's a few things I noticed from the demo. I'm comparing Pes5 to Pes4.
First, the good stuff:

-Better, smarter goaltenders.
-Sliding tackles have been improved.
-More fouls being called by the refs (depends on the ref, btw). It makes the game a bit "broken", though. Slightly more tolerant refs and it would've been perfect.
-Game has been slowed down.
-Player movement is smooth and the jerkyness from Pes4 (ie. lack of animations) is practically gone. But...

Things I DON'T like about Pes5:

-...the players are slow and don't respond well.
-Passes are inacurate and most times you have no idea who you will be passing to.
-The new Controlled shot is a great idea, but try pushing X and the Black button at the same time on an Xbox controller. PS2 users don't have this problem, I know, but guess if that ticks me off as an Xbox user.

Currently, I'd say that Pes5 is slightly better than Pes4 and I'll probably play this game a LOT, but still. Some things about it just make me go berserk.

played a few games in 4 stars mode, it' s totally outclass fifa06 demo, the gameplay is improved, touches of balls are very realistic. For me, harder to score, but it's good.

Harkasar, some points in your post:

-...the players are slow and don't respond well.
... I think you are talking about dribbling? They respond just a bit later than when you make a certain move with your gamepad, right? Well, that is intentional! In real football, you cannot make a move instantly; has to do with your body-physics. This was all wrong in PES 4, where you instantly started to dribble. That way you was able to dribble pass serveral players, no matter how weak that particular player was in dribbling.
PES 5 has fixed this unrealistic dribbling; now you can forget dribbling past ten men. If you are good you go past two man and that's it! This is how the game should be! Be happy with this realism :)

-Passes are inacurate and most times you have no idea who you will be passing to.

Hmmm.... I think inaccurate is possible, but you should be able to get the right direction.
Here the same thing like in dribbling: Sometimes your passer has low passing attributes, which makes the chance of a bad pass more likely. Did you notice the great bouncing of the ball, making ballcontrol harder? Bad passers will produce more bouncing passes than good passers. Also the quality of the pitch has to do with it.
So, know your players! If you controll a bad passer, don't let him make a hard pass, just pass to the man closest to him!
Really, some of your bad points are in fact good points if you recognize the challenge of it :)

I agree with you about the xbox-controller, but that can be solved by buying the Xbox 360, although that is not really a PES 5 problem.

Me: I agree on the difficulty somewhat. This new movement/dribbling system is better, but I still think it's too sluggish. I have troubles just keeping the ball away from the opponent. It feels kinda "scripted", like EA Sports games. You don't feel like you're in control. The dribbling in Pes4 was too easy, but at least the controlled player did exactly what you wanted.

Me: What I meant was, that if you have several of your players at the same direction and you try to pass there, you can't know who the passer will go for. I just tried another game, and there the passer once actually passed to a player who was the FARTHEST away(I only tapped the button, so I wanted him to pass to the closest one). Maybe it has to do with passing skills, but it feels, again, like the A.I decides things for you.

Maybe if I practice enough, I'll be able to control the ball better, but currently I just don't like it.

Yes, PES is a game what needs to be getting used to :)
About the passing: If there are serveral players you pass to, the ball will go to the place the passer is facing at, which is not the same as passing in the direction you aim at with your controller! Keep an eye on the passer and look where he is facing at. The same is true for the low and high trough-pass, but these are even harder because you can measure the speed as well and you do not aiming to a player, but an area. If you want the ball going to the place the controller is directed, you should use the right analog stick, but that is even harder to control :)

The more I play it the more I love this game!
It's really making me think more than any other pes game, which is what i've always wanted.
Scored two great goals with raul and zidane in one match, and it was a real team effort, a real sense of achievment.

Ok it's got things that could be improved on, but to me it's just cosmetics, the gameplay will stand the test of time!

Also i've noticed the better quality players now seem to have alot more time on the ball i.e figo, zidane etc

I think I know why the whole passing system seemed to be fu**ed up. My MS Sidewinder Gamepad is possibly broken. :) I can't really be sure, but the direction of passes and shots seems totally random. I'll try the keyboard (the horror!!) and see what happens.

EDIT: The passes still seem kinda random, but not as bad as before. I'll have to wait until I get a proper controller, or they release the Xbox version. I'll just shup up 'till then.
Also, I HATE playing with the keyboard.

You can test it in the control pennel of Windows.
There is an icon for gamecontrols (donno if it's called that way; I have a Dutch version) and there you should be able to test and calibrate your controller.

Oh of course, I must be a n00b, because I didn't agree with you PES bashing (once again). :boohoo: FIFA is still behind PES, in almost every department. Licensing is the only department I can think of that FIFA is winning, apart from that, it's the ol' crap from EA.

And yes, I'm a fanboy. :) But unlike you, I don't bash FIFA every chance I get, unlike you, who bashes PES constantly.

After playing the game for a few more days now and learning the new foul system, I must say this is the greatest game ever! I mean how can EA even try to compete with this? Every aspect of the game is so realistic and the graphics are absolutely awesome! Can't understand people who say Fifa has better graphics. The players in fifa look like their made of china or something the way they shine! =)
Absolutely love it! Is the game due in october?

Ps. I started playing pes instead of fifa just a few months ago, so I'm no fan-boy!

The only thing I like better with Fifa is the dribbling and the updated rosters.
Does any1 know why Konami never has the updated rosters?

One of the unwritten rules is <<Pay attention to what the other is saying>>.Now like a good boy go and see what i consider best soccer game in the previous posts or generally from my post in this forum ;) .It seems nowadays that everyone who doesn't like the new installment of PES makes him a Fifa fanboy.Simply LOL,hahahahahahahahaha way to go mate :rockman: :clapwap:

Oh and about the bashing.I'm bashing it cause i see one of my favourite series being f*cked up.I've posted the videos and the screenshots.Let the PES return to it's roots, where collision detection and movement was perfect, where you were controlling 100% the players, with the simulation feeling that those versions had.Simple as that.
