Congratulations if you DO have the time to chat to strangers about whatever it is you deem so important, but i simply don't have the time and i think you'll find alot of other people are the same. Oh, and i know perfectly well HOW to use IRC, thanks very much. Now, let's get this thread back on topic...

Do not give the ubernerd that much credit. I am a teenager. He is a ****in' imbecile. He is probably to busy trying out his "hacking" skills. I know how to use IRC(unfortunatly) but it is an awful way to communicate. The layout is disgusting and I, believe it or not, do not have the time to go on IRC for hours at a time and I am only in college for 20 hours a week.

seriously, 'I don't have time to use irc' doesn't make _ANY_ sense. I'm at college and I also have little spare time, but it takes about ... eh ... 30 seconds to connect to quakenet and join the channel. It's just such a small effort

You say that as though connecting is all you have to do. Ofcourse, that's the easy bit. And then how long do you spend on there? That's the point. And what for? I think everyone can get all the info they need from this forum. We are hardly going to get into a situation where people who don't use IRC can't play in this league! This forum and a devoted website (if and when it's setup) will be all that's needed. There will no doubt be a few technical hurdles to overcome in getting this thing off the ground, but i fail to see how IRC is going to provide the solution, so Reefurs outburst seems a little redundant if you ask me.

He mentioned MSN Messenger - well, despite it's faults i think you'll find more people have this and are familar with it than IRC. Maybe the geek-tech fanboys wouldn't dream of using anything but IRC, but Messenger is on pretty much every PC, and even my dad can use it (and he really is an idiot).

We're some way off before this thing gets started anyway, so we'll see how things progress. I still have reservations on how the IP>IP thing will work and ensuring the league runs smoothly, as do alot of us i think.

Well most of the time I spend on it is idle time, but ofc you are right that the people that can't connect to irc shouldn't be excluded. (I know some people who's connection is G-lined all the time or something ) But I was just replying to your reply, because it's just a simple chatprogram which requires no memory at all, U can be idle all the time without annoying popups and a slower comp ...

about the connection speed ...... i think more then DL speed ..upload speed will be more important for PES while low ping will be esenstial for fluent play ...

Whats the big deal with IRC? Its lame, I prefer MSN. And how can anyone say that if you can't use IRC you have to be stupid? If anything such a absurd statement points to their own stupidity.

Personally i use irc as its easy to create a channel where the community can discuss things in real time as a group. Its a very useful tool which is used by businesses to provide technical support etc, so not just 15 year old geeks. Personally i think the attitude of certain people on these forums has a lot to be desired and maybe we should all start being constructive instead of bashing peoples lifestyles!

Back on topic tho.... basically pes4 is ip to ip so how do people propose we get together for friendly matches etc? MSN maybe the answer but personally i dont fancy adding 100's of people to my msn list when theres lots of modern user friendly irc clients around and 10 seconds of peoples time to connect to a channel so we can swap ip's easily. Even if theres a core group of players who can devote time and act as administrators of the league?

Hmm I'm really interested in this but I'm behind a university firewall and I need to beg the network administrator to open the necessary ports...
Anyone know which ports the game will use? Just so I can confirm/cancel my participation as early as possible.

In the mean time can I reserve Lecce please :D

beginning to doubt that I can play at my university too, I can send files via msn, use ftp, irc, receive files via irc, but I cant use peer to peer programs.

Etched do i say every bull**** that has been told 10 times and keep asking about it??? Do i keep posting like crazy for dreams or anything. I think that there should be another topic which will have the teams and who player use them and this one for questions and discussion.

And next time think before u say i make it annoying because a 56k can't see 18 + pages to c what he want
