Actually, shot button controls height
Wether shot will be strong or not depends on player's parameter and other conditions.
May there should be additional combination for low shot.
IMHO - shot is good at this time.
I'd like to see or feel power bar during penalty kick.
Now it's completely automatic, only direction is implemented.

ibo,

how do you explain the dozens of shots that go over the bar in real life? I think Konami has recreated this beautifully, you get too eager, wanna blast it, and it may go over....just like in real football. It would be **** if every shot went on target or wide....you need, even good players, shooting over the bar..

Mind u.....that it's not KCET who made the ISS 98'........it's KCEO who made it......they also make the current ISS series.....KCET makes the WE/PES series......KCET makes great football simulations....while KCEO makes arcadey type of footie games.......

PES 4 wishlist
-Able to see players getting replaced(and maybe the 4th official holding the thing that shows the players no. getting sub on and off)
-In the master league, players who plays in the same national team or belong to the same club should have better teamwork when we human players buy them(Eg. I juz bought Zidane and I have Henry in the team. They shoould straight away have a good teamwork stats with one another)
-More boots
-Penalty engine should be tweaked
-Able to see players standing in the center circle instead of outside the circle during kick off(for the players whose team kicks off)
-More licensed teams
-Add the All-star team in the game(World All-star and Europe All-star
-Scenario mode(Able to play classic matches/moments)
Eg. Manutd vs Bayern (European Cup Final)
-Online Play!
and wateva KCET thinks it's best for the series

You're kidding me, right? FIFA 2004 has the one of the worst UIs in any sport game.

Only the two players kicking off are allowed in the centre circle at kickoff.

i didnt say shooting is bad in pes3.. but it needs a little bit work: when i have the ball outside the penalty area and want to shoot, then the ball either goes too slow to the goalkeepers hands (i pressed shotbutton too short) , or it goes over the bar (i pressed it too long) .. ok, sometimes i can score beautiful goals from outside the box, but what i really want is low and hard shots (like in real life)... i dont think the game will get easier by this.. not if konami make the keepers better...

but you are right: shooting in pes3 is the best and the most realistic what i have seen in a footballgame so far :rockman:

I think they should improve the AI and make players do smarter runs, but off the ball control with people making runs when you press the buttons takes away from the realism and fun of the game. Not mention it may be an easy way to get chances and score if someone had perfects it...so here come the 8-6 scorelines.

Players who haven't got the ball should make clever runs and get into space, just like real football...I'd like to meet the psychic playmaker that commands teammates by intercepting their brainwaves on the field and making them do what he wishes...

I think Nedvedwould have to give his trophy to this guy :)

i don't understand why you are getting so worked up about this... if you wouldn't want to use it (suppose for a second it were in the game) nobody would force you to ... you could still just have your wingers stand stupidly on the sideline as they always do...

i would be one who would totally embrace it, and i couldn't see how it would *ruin* the game, provided the defensive CPU AI was adjusted as well. who would say that every "run into space" had to be successful? but it would add so much to the realism of the game and the possibilities to make plays...

as for "controlling 2 players".. well, i would venture to say that good teams and good players have this sort of understanding that in given situations they are almost communicating telepatically... someone like Zidane will more often than not anticipate whereto and when Henry will make a run ... it should of course be a variable and not all players should have an equal talent there...

if done right (that is, not the FIFA way) this could be stellar, and if it fails, you'd still have the opportunity to play the "old-fashioned" way.

Sounds like most of you guys are FIFA fans, trying to get Konami to convert to ** *****s' ways.

I fully agree with theCro's original post.
For me, there's a few gameplay things -- heading/crossing, bending the ball in shooting/pasting etc., better refereeing/fouling system, more complex career/"franchise"--like mode in the ML, and maybe more thought put into the locked-player feature.
Obviously, there's always room for gameplay (see theCro's/your own opinions), but . . .

BUT, that all being said, I could care less if there were any improvements, if, and only if, Konami put all their time into a great online system, with perfect servers, and options for online leagues etc.

Just think of the endless opportunities with online play.:hump:
We could have massive leagues, in various countries, playing in domestic and international cups.
We could play 11 users vs 11 users. We could each make ourselves (based on some system), be signed by clubs, improve based on in-game performances, be bought and sold, selected for National Teams, etc..
Link that up with a Managerzone or Hattrick-like managerial system, with the players being actual players, and. . . :bob:
Basically, we could all get fired from our jobs, or drop out of school, and not give a shit.

Dude, you can get that game and the emulator for the PC online in about 20 mins flat. I used to play ISS 64, 98 and 2000 on the PC before I got the PSX emylator and started playing PES2 on the PC.

Here's my list:

- Official licenses

As much fun as spending over 300 hours in total editing names, rosters, uniforms, etc. is, I'd like to just pick up and play next time!

- More teams and actual proper leagues.

This is one area where FIFA does have an advantage although it has nothing to do with EA's ability to produce games, just the size of their wallet to purchase the licenses. Still, Konami could just create more team slots so we could do them ourselves. As mind-numbing as it would be, if we could add our own teams, some of us would work to add every major club team into the game.

- More call names.

If we can't get the official licenses, they could at least give us the proper call names to apply. I know they did it with some teams (specifically real city names) but I'm sure they could at least allow us to have the commentator to say 'Everton' or 'Real Madrid'.

- An easier transfers system.

Transfers should be able to be d/l from the internet or really easy to perform in the game, just like iwth the WEditor program. You shouldn't have to get 10,000 PES to be able to make transfers using a system more complicated than actually learning theg ame for the first time.

- Referee on the field and assistant refs on the sideline.

I can't see how this would overstretch the CPU too much. It would add a lot more realism to the game.

- Online play.

Gotta happen in the next version. With offical licenses and online play the FIFA crowd have no reason to stick to FIFA other than clinical insanity!

- Graphics

For the most part I am happy with the improving graphics from version to version and without a doubt, they'll improve again in the next version regardless. The player faces are already pretty amazing, I never thought the day would come when I could see a player's teeth and tongue as their mouth opens in a soccer game! The crowd could do with a little more work although again I think they'll be better anyway just as part of the improving graphics process from game to game. Like to see a few more scarves, jerseys and banners in the crowd though rather than the crowd from the 1920's we have at the moment!

- Gameplay

I agree with The Cro. I'm not into this off the ball control thing as it hints at the sixth sense which doesn't exist in soccer! More intelligent runs is an answer but not the ability to tell 3 or 4 players simultaneously where to run. Let's not follow EA's example of "If it's in the game.... we've taken it out and put something else there which doesn't exist" example. I love the gameplay personally. I was perfectly happy with WE6:I and couldn't see how it could improve but it did.

I may be the only one but if there was never another soccer game released ever I'd still happily play PES3 for the rest of my life. The game is a true classic and a landmark in sports gaming. Good thing is, there will be a WE8/PES4 which I'm sure will have us all dribbling like idiots a few weeks before release!

- better crossing system. Make a system where you are able to make a hard cross with curve.
- More movement directions, 8 directions is too less to make good crosses.
- better shooting animations. most of the times the players look like amateurs while shooting
- Better AI when the cpu is heading to the backline. Now they usually make a 180 turn when you are nearby and then try to cross.
- better overall graphics
- create more stadium atmosphere, like adding more chants, more reactions from the crowd during situations.

Simak,

I understand where you're coming from man, and maybe such a feature would be ok if implemented properly, but I still feel it goes completely against the fundamental code for football and football games, that is, you control the ball handler. Smarter runs are the answer, if my winger just stays there I move back a couple of feet and he starts his run...I feel it's more fun this way, giving it to the streaking guy whichever side he's on. Not manually manipulationg teammates to make the runs you want...

IMO. :)
