PES 2008 PC... way too fast

It arrived today and it is better than FIFA again...

I set everything at high and I used widescren fix to be able to play @ 1680x1050 on 22" LG L226WTQ (what is KONAMI thinking??? Did they ever hear about Widescreen monitors???). No ghosting or other issues but the game runs too fast. It gives me headache. Also it looks much sharper with antialiasing turned off then when I set it on 8x or 16x via nhancer.

Is there any way to slow down the game? Hope someone will find a solution for PC users for some issues.

Also players seem to be of a lot of smaller detail when camera is a bit far from them. I like everything to be just like in replays when camera is close.

Pls help with game speed.

Thanks

The games is too fast for you because you maybe playing with your LCD monitor at a 75HZ Refresh rate, set your refresh rate at 60HZ and activate V-Sync (Game Settings panel). The game was designed to be played at 60HZ.

I prefer playing at 75HZ, the game is faster but at 60hz I feel the game too slow.

I play at 1440x900 with high settings.

Hey bud, how's your monitor? Do you play fps like bf2? is it good quality, no ghosting? I was gonna buy a samsung 22" but your model is cheaper.

It's because the game was built for 60z - it defaults to that on PC unless you force it high, in which case the game runs too quick.

I have the same issue as you do. I want to play at the slower proper speed but I cannot view 60Hz as it hurts my eyes. And 75Hz makes the game run too quick.

Only solution is to force your TFT to 60. But of course TFT doesn't refresh like CRT does.

Unless Konami patch it to run slower at higher refresh rates.

And frankly such an oversight was absolutely appalling.

I want to play this game and cannot.

A damn pain.

tbh m8 your guess is as good as mine. The guy seems to be saying he can only play at 75, but seeing as TFT don't cycle refresh rates in the same way as CRT do, I don't really know what he's on about. Unless he's not at *any* refresh rate and the game is running fast, period. But then the reply asks him to reduce refresh rate to 60, but apparently you can't do on TFT.

TFT go with nanosecond for pixel change. Quicker the pixel can change colour is the quicker the 'refresh' is. But it's a difference system to CRT entirely.

I am a tad confused.

@ Jamesybhoy 1.Monitor is great. No ghosting in any game when u set one option in LG service menu. It has 2ms response time.

If u buy the monitor:

Turn it off, hold down menu button and while holding it turn the monitor using the power button. Then release. After u see your desktop press menu and u will see service menu. Set panel type to LPL22w 4L. After that, turn off the monitor and turn it on again normally. Most of these monitors have false default setting to CM monitor (chimei), which is sometimes causing ghosting, but its only because of this setting and too high brightness setting. I dont like samsung monitors.

It is really great monitor. I tried all samsungs and all LGs and picked this one. U can not find a bad review, too.

REST of guys:

Widescreen TFT monitors run at 60hz ONLY at 1680x1050. My runs at 60hz by default. I enabled vsync so it seems slower now but goal keeper still got the reflexes and moves of a cheetah :)

Is the frame skipping in the PES 2008 settings enabled? If so, disable it to fix this fast game problem.

its driver error wait for fix
it was like that with me on my X1950xt with Cat7.9 but after 7.10 it fixed
and i run at 1280*1024 high settings all on with 85Hz refresh rate
a temporally thing to uncheck Vsync.

The solution is disabling vsync in the game settings. It's incredibly that simple.

U didnt read my posts. When i DISABLE VSYNC it is too fast like it should be, because VSYNC ENABLED causes lower framerates in all games.

VSYNC enabled = lower framerates
VSYNC disabled = higher framerates with vertical tearing

I had to ENABLE it and ENABLE 16x AA in order to make game run slower. KONAMI just doesnt make PC games fully optimized.

I had to make VSYNC thing clear :) So it is not incredibly simple cause if i listen to u and disable vsync my game runs way too fast. U try framerates with vsync enabled and disabled an see for yourself.

Its just that the game is that way. Fast gameplay. Fifa has slower gameplay now but FIFA PC sux.

Well I have got the speed running perfectly now on my lcd with v synch on at a res of 1360 x 760 , constant 60fps with graphics settings on high. I still cannot stop the game playing fast on my monitor (1280 x 1024) though no matter what settings i change.

Not really a problem as will be playing on my lcd anyway.

OK man. Just got this monitor this morning and done what you said. THough I have no idea what it means. There were loads of options to change panel type to..

there's a little program, called cm4speeder - i don't have a link to it right now, but you should be able to find it.. It's quite handy for adjusting the speed - you can really fine-tune it to perfection.

Watch Out!

I've just AltaVist'd said prog and gone for the Filefront hit - but the version I downloaded came bundled with a trojan that had most of the AV engines on Virustotal.com glowing red. So watch out!

Anyone know of a clean version? Be nice to check it out.

I just tried it out on my CRT and its total unreal. You can run from one end of the pitch to the other in about 2 seconds. How could they make a game so messed up??? I don't understand the tecnical stuff of how it can work fine on LCD but not CRT but well glad I bought my LCD. :D

playing at 1680*1050@ 60Hz with v-sync on and it runs very well. Looks amazing on a big 22" widescreen.

excuse my ignorance but how can you change the refresh rate in the game? I have an LCD 17" playing at native 1280x1024 at with refresh rate at 60Hz I am having some problems

I just tried playing about with dif resolutions and at 1152*864 the game plays about 5*faster.

So, what is the 'real' speed of the game? I guess whatever speed it is on the consoles is the way it is meant to be, but I aint played them. I defo prefer slower speed though, much more realistic game. If its superfast on the consoles then the game would be **** IMO.

Also, I still don't get how one boy can be playing 5*faster than another boy and they can play against each other online? How the fook does that work?

do you have any idea how to change the refresh rate? at 60hz i get this tedious moving lines, like distortion in the middle of the screen which is driving me insane

Sorry man I didin't mean to quote you. I have no idea. But from what I'm reading you're best playing at 60hz. Do you have v-sync on? are you widescreen monitor i.e. choose 16:9 ratio in options?
