Its time for Dyer, Parker and Joe Cole to step up a notch and fill in where Scholes left off.

Also a chance for Nicky butt to win his spot in the starting line up back.

I don't see the point in him quitting though only he knows why he did. It will be a big lost to England though maybe some other player will step up their game and take that spot behind the strikers. I'm thinking Joe Cole in the number 1 candidate, especially if he can do well with Chelsea this season.

I think it is the right decision for him , he hasnt played at his best for England , hes 29 now by the next world cup hell be 31 , and past his best. I think it will give someone younger the opportunity to cement their place in the English team.

Joe Cole is still too young for Chelsea and England.

He has had a good career with England. I was quite shocked though but this means one midfielder from the pool of Butt, Dyer, Joe Cole can occupy the empty spot.
