**** I wanted this trophy bad! It carries with it the title of World Champions! What the **** was FIFA thinking when they selected South American ref's for this game? I saw last night that the ref was from Uruguay and right away I rolled my eyes! Those ******* Spanish South & Central Americans always always always favor each other. I've seen it many times in Concacaf qualifying matches!!!! Not one but two perfectly legit goals denied by these cheats!!! McCarthy must be ******* pissed! His two goals would have surely given him the car, but instead it went to Maniche (who I thought played his best game of the year!!!!!).

Gotta love Diego's reaction after he scored the penalty! I assume it dates back to Once's elimination of Santos in last seasons edition of the Libertadores Cup? What an epic reaction! I'll never forget it!

Oh and by the way.....Re: Nuno's performance on PK's...quite possibly the worst display by a keeper ever. He had not a single clue! Wh might as well have not played with a goalkeeper for the PK's!!!!!!

Yeah i agree. Maniche was pretty good but McCarthy was Porto´s best player in my opinion. Class performance and he surely deserved to get his name as a goal scorer during the 90 minutes. Both disallowed goals were so clear, if i was McCarthy i would get extremely pissed and prolly lose my concentration because of such blatant referee mistakes. But he kept going and trying to score and that shot that hit the bar was phenomenal.
What a difference btw McCarthy´s shadow years in Celta and his Porto performances. Awesome player.

it wasn't FIFA that choosed the ref because FIFA don't have anything to do about this game. it's a uefa and conmebol joint organization (sponsored by Toyota) and this year was conmebol that choosed the ref. last year was uefa.

next year onwards will be FIFA that will organize the world clubs cup.
