Never intentional i think. But very reckless, and its a terrible shame to the guy who received the tackle, i really feel for him. Hope he can walk properly :(

I don't think that was intentional, at all. Sure, it was a bit rough, but there was nothing criminal about it.

The guy who did it, Rachid Bouaouzan, had to show up in court because the DA accused him of doing it intentionally. He can get a minimum of three months of jail and a maximum of 8 years (unlikely).

As for Kokmeijer, he had to quit. His right leg is almost fully covered in dead tissue, a couple of nerves are dead and he can't move his toes, and there's no improvement to be expected.

I don't care what shinguard you wear, but nothing is stopping a leg from breaking in a case like that. The guy followed through fully on his shot as the other guy came in at the worst possible time. :(

that's weak. so very weak. he should be banned from football, i don't care, a tackle like that doesn't have a place in the beautiful game.
