Awww fvck, that really sucks. :( Poor guy. I hope his family is looked after financialy. I mean this is a big blow not only to him but also the family he supports.

What become of the guy that caused this?

The guy got 10 matches suspension but to quote Kokmeijer:

Oh that's right. Roy Keane. What a goon, both of these dudes deserve each other. I hope their's retribution on the blue team's part....i.e. the assassination of the tackling player.

Keane didn't end Haaland's career though. The knee that Roy damaged had healed completely, its his other knee that gave way.

Yeah, I saw this a few weeks ago. Kokmeijer is gonna press charges.

Sparta really dealt well with Bouazouan though. They put him on non-active: he got kicked out of the first team, can't play for the second team either and is barred from the trainingscamp in Turkey. Bouzouan did visit Kokmeijer a few days later and said he forgave him.

The biggest ban in Holland was for Henk van Ramselaar. In the 1975/76 season he kicked the ref in the nuts and got banned for 2,5 years.

Did he really do it intentioanlly? the ball was around shin-level, and surely the challenge was reckless, but it does seem like he wanted to get the ball and caught the player instead.

Lesson to the kids...wear full shinguards! If it doesn't cover the entire shin, it's not worth it!
