yeah i remember saw that CL highlights with a huge crowd at the athens olympic stadium.

I'm sure that the national team will use it sometimes. Also, AEK are using it this season as their new AEK Arena is being built. Panathinaikos may choose to use it as well instead of using that goat field they call a stadium. But the rent will probably be too high for Vardinogiannis.

umm are you serious....Leoforos is only second now to Karaiskaki as far as quality football stadiums in Athens are concerned...

Apostolos Nikolaidis was just renovated 2 years ago....the just this summer got a new roof over the seating areas....picture below...(from stadia.gr)

I am serious, the renovation helps but it is still no where near the quality that Panathinaikos should have. The capacity is like 18000:(

I hope they move to Goudi, for the good of Greek soccer.

honestly the train has left (translate to greek).......the olympics were the only chance PAO had to get a state of the art stadium.
Unless Bardinogiannis puts his hands in his pockets we'll be chanting for leoforos for many years to come....
