Yea he's good but I think Ferdinand will become the best English defender. Good buy though. Lets just hope he stays fit eh.

it really depends on the coach some coach maube doesn't
like Woodgate and puts him at the end of the list

but for me this is the order

1.Sol Campbell
2.Rio Ferdinand
3.John Terry
4.Woodgate
5.Southgate

just my opinio but i'm sure Mr. Eriksson knows more of this
than me:p

Woodgate is class. He was better than Terry before he got injured and before Terry just matured like crazy in 1 season.

lol very true ... when we would have had all summer to spend the money to find a player ... not just 11 days.

This crap about us having a moral obligation to let him go to Madrid Bobby was trying to feed the fans is pretty sad.

What he means by moral obligation is, he will probably be getting paid 2x as much at Real, and he is likely to be playing in Champions League. If Woodgate's bid had been rejected he may have been unhappy at Newcastle thinking "what it could have been", before he goes back to a sad Bramble reality.

Does this mean Titus Bramble is a first choice centre-half now? Heh.

Woodgate could have been better than Campbell if he hadn't fucked up at Leeds, off-field trouble and whatnot. What you get for hanging out with thugs and rapists, no?

He's still a very good defender, I'd say he's on a par with Terry except he's injured all the time.

i know but he should be protecting this club.
Anyway Robson was just a messenger... the decision was taken by the board and Bobby was more or less clutching at straws for excuses like "you know, players can fail medicals"
