Real Madrid CF and Newcastle United have agreed today the transfer of Jonathan S. Woodgate from the English club to Real Madrid. Woodgate has surpassed with success his medical recognition and has signed a 4-year deal plus 1 optional
The player will sign his contract tomorrow Saturday in the offices of the Stadium Santiago Bernabéu and will be presented at 12:30 in the morning.
Real Madrid thanks Newcastle United for the professionalism with which these negotiations have developed, that have served to promote the excellent relation among both clubs.

The Funny thing is real chance vieira all summer and dont want to play an extra few million to get him and as soon as they cant get him they go out and splash out on players which are questionable. But hey im not complaining

I think the problem was not the money, the problem was Arsenal did all the posible tricks to f*ck the signing of Vieira, who was decided to go to Madrid

When David O'Leary was at Leeds he stated at one point that he had bought Rio Ferdinand primarily as cover for Jon Woodgate. Very highly rated earlier in his career, and from what I've understood was highly effective in all the games he managed to play for Newcastle last year before his injury.

If we wanted to fuck Madrid over we wouldn't have even upped the asking price, we would have told Perez to fuck off right there, right then with his pithy 33M. But we knew Vieira had his head turned so we try to make as much profit as possible... pity Madrid didn't want to splash out another 5M.

Why would he fight for what is his?Under FIFA laws you're not allowed to talk to the player before a bid is accepted by the club, that's half the point of agreeing a transfer fee - you get permission to talk to the player.

i might not have worded it correctly but what i was trying to say was that woodgate would not start over sol or rio, and possibly over terry. fair enough, IF he was fit and IF he was playing well he would start over terry. that still doesnt give him a starting position

about the viera transfer make me remember last time ronaldinho transfer as well. initially is man utd come out the bid, then barcelona bid too. thats not the problems. but the problems is PSG turn down man utd bid (which is higher than barcelona) and that time ronaldinho have released to media that he loves to move to man utd and accept barcelona bid (which is lower price). continue is ronaldinho said he love barcelona.
