Minneapolis, MN - TCF Bank Stadium (H)

Might actually happen, the U is pushing it pretty hard to recoup the costs... It might be a bit small, though.

TCF Bank Stadium will host soccer matches if Chicago wins the 2016 Olympics. So, that'll be a good test of it.

I posted my 'top 10 philly-born soccer players' article, and put Bobby Convey ahead of Ben Olsen. And I pissed off ALOT of DC United fans. I know Convey has had an up and down career, but he played in England for 5 years. Plus, he was huge part of the Reading team that won promotion to the EPL. I dont think picking Convey over Olsen is that ridiculous.

heres the link, by the way.

Saw it already. Can't say I disagree with you putting Convey ahead of Olsen, as he's accomplished more internationally. Ranking Valentin ahead of Curtin (or even Conway) was a curious decision, however. Curtin is a solid MLS veteran who was among the league's premier defenders for several seasons. Valentin was the weak link in our 2007 U-20 World Cup team and he's played exactly 1 game for the Gals since being drafted. In general though, I agree with your list.

The ref just awarded a ridiculous penalty which put San Jose 3-2 up over Chicago. Soumare got punished for being taller and stronger than Bobby Convey. The Fire have had the better of the play as well.

3-3 final... Rolfe with a left-footed shot from just outside the penalty area. Fair enough, I guess. Blanco made a lot of errant passes today, I fear he may be starting to show his age.

The Maryland Soccerplex looks nice, it could be expanded more but I guess DC's owner wants to combined the stadium with mixed-use development?

So is Sigi that good of a coach? He's led Seattle to 2nd place while the Crew have yet to win a match with basically the same roster.

The Crew haven't played poorly so far in the season, they've just been unlucky. I still think the East will come down to Chicago vs. Columbus. From what I've seen, Seattle have consistently played the best soccer out of any team in MLS. A lot of that credit has to go to Sigi, but you also have to recognize that not every expansion team gets Freddie Ljungberg, Fredy Montero and Kasey Keller to just drop into its lap.

So yes, Sigi is a pretty good coach. I still think Preki is the best coach in MLS, though.

He's good friends with Alan Shearer....he(Carver) seemed uneasy during his first interview after Shearer took over, when asked about the possibility of joining him. That's one possibility....

There is more to this story than originally let on. The "personal reasons" are real and it looks like the stress and stuff were getting to him.
