Always thought Warner was dodgy, that is yet more proof that he is as corrupt as the rest of the big big bigwigs in FIFA. Anyway not sure about João Pinto going to the MLS but whoppee doo, Real Salt Lake have just signed a practising medical doctor for the 2008 season... from Gretna! (H)

Not coming to Toronto FC.. but last I read he was still talking to MLS reps, so he may still play in North America this season. My prediction is that he'll either end up with the Galaxy, or more likely New England where he'd still have some good drawing power because of the larger local Portuguese population there.

Bummer about the Rhinos. They were always such great competition. If the Rhinos go, San Fran is gone, the Flounders go next year, the USL is getting a little thin. Austin will be in next year but how long will Miami last? I hate playing teams 3 and 4 times a year just to make up the schedule.

Well, with any luck the Timbers will be MLS bound somtime in the next 5 years.

It looks like Philly will be the next expansion city for the MLS and it also looks like the name of Seattle team will be Seattle Sounders FC (Y)

I officially hate Toronto FC now. What a sh1t ass sub-par franchise, with some very pathetic individuals involved in the drawing board. They just traded away my favourite, and perhaps the best TFC player, Ronny O'Brien, to SJ for a draft pick, and cash. Not to mention how they still haven't linked up with any European star. So much ambition there. O'Brien was involved in almost all of TFC's goals last season, and I don't think the team scored at all in all of the games that O'Brien missed due to injury.

Oh yeah, TFC also holds very lame pre-season "open trials" to anybody who's willing to pay some money and travel to Toronto to try out. Except nobody ever gets selected, not even for the reserves. Mo Johnston only watched the final 30 prospects for 2 minutes before leaving to attend other business, f***king asshole. It really sucked for the poor Brazilian youngsters who borrowed money from friends to travel all the way here just to give it a try, making it to the final cut, and not getting a chance. No one did.

Yeah, the Ronnie O'Brien trade pissed me off at first, but I think it sorta makes sense now. O'Brien was always a knee injury waiting to happen..

Yeah, I know what you mean about the lack of a big star from Europe or even South America. Toronto is the perfect place for a well-known name to play since the fans are so knowledgeable about European soccer.

What pisses me off is that the club has shown very little ambition so far in its short life. It's looking more and more like a crappy revenue-earning machine for the MLSE. They are clearly taking the tremendous amount of fan base for granted and hardly rewarding us at all. And the management team just sucks. Mo Johnston is incompetent.

Well, you guys did get Harmse for practically nothing. No harmse in that, right?

Yay! I finally got an opportunity to use that pun!

I'm pretty pissed off too...Just watch O'Brien be fine for most of next season. I see an even worse season coming up than the first :crazyboy:

Just because he's Canadian doesn't mean he's any good, eh?
The positive thing about Toronto getting Harmse is that now they can have him break Ronnie O'Brien's legs with one of his patented tackles. It would spell the end of his season and the O'Brien trade would look good all of a sudden.

Yea, I've given up faith, only chance we have left is a miracle. I guess Shifty William's deadline is Friday, otherwise the team won't even be ready the new season.
