Should I get 8800GTX or 8800GTS?
Will 8800GTS be enough to play PES2008 in high with top resolution?
Thanks!

What u want 2 do is wait until DX10 is the norm and then buy the 8800 cards. by that time the cards will be MUCH MUCH cheaper.
It's the same as those quad core CPUS cos nothing in the world can utilise them. No point in them whatsoever. Dual core is exactly the same speed....at the moment in time.

And that's much more better to buy great video card and play the games you want to, not slow and old video, that gonna cost less money(like 7800 Gs), but will not gonna be normally playble and willl be with ''no future''- cause you can't play Crysis even on medium detail with 7800 gs !!! maybe even on low it will run badly !!!!!!!!
Jip_Travolta;2428212 said:Why would you want VISTA?? It's bugged to bits and incompatable with just about everything.
Look at the steam survey http://www.steampowered.com/status/survey.html.
90.33% of people have XP and only 7.99% have VISTA. The software companies are not daft. If they only release games for DX10 and Vista then they are going to lose a fortune. They are not going to release games for a MINORITY market.
Also if DX10 and VISTA are that good then why are Microsoft expected to release a VISTA replacement in 2009? Here's the facts ... http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/2174703/vista-replacement-scheduled
XP and DX9 are going to be safe for a very long time!

Now i'm an overclock maniac, i play DX10 Games and DX9 Games, and i work at a hardware store, and i'm starting programming next Year in Curtin University of Technology. Your arrogance is unbelievable mate.
Number 1 - Quad-Core CPU's are fully utilizied by Windows Vista, especially 64-Bit editions. YES FULLY !!! Not even partly utalized.
Number 2 - DX10 Games are becoming widespread, such as Crysis (**Which by the way, fully uses ur Quad-Core processor**)
Number 3 - DX10 Cards run DX9 games at much faster rates, due to Shader Operations being rendered upto 20x Faster then DX9 cards, a much higher memory bandwidth, and higher pixel fill & texture fill rates. The entire pipeline layout is different, and DX10 cards have much higher raster operations being done.
Dude go for the 8800GTX its worth it. But thats only if ur an nVidia FAN ... I'm currently running the game on HIGH at 1280*720 and it runs perfectly fine using a 2900XT, no lag spikes during replays or anything like that
The 2900XT performs better then a 8800GTS, but is less powerful then an 8800GTX, and costs allot less. so i'd get that if i was you You will be happy with the performance
Good luck with everything
