"New Simulator
The first release of the new simulator has now been made! It is active for all matches that started at 10:00 (CEST) today, or later.

Here are the details of what have been changed.

Walkovers are now handled more correctly. If a walkover occur during a game, the result is changed to 5-0 to the team not causing the walkover.

The shooting has been improved. Now the players cannot shoot with their backs against the goal.

The goalkeeper has been greatly reviewed. It is now much more correct according to the goalkeeper's skill.

The passing game and how the players receive the passes has been reviewed, but this is still a bit experimental. It will be further adjusted during this week. You will see some missed passes and occations when the receiving players misunderstands where the ball is going. This will be resolved later this week.

The players now hit passes to the area behind the opponents defenders. The attackers can then rush to try to reach the ball before the defenders.

When the play is stopped, i.e. for a free kick or a throw in, etc, the players move faster. This is done so that you should not have to wait as long for the game to start again.

The players now position them better when it is time for a corner.

The match clock is now stopped before the game starts and during the half time break.

This is the first release of the new version of the simulator, and there are still a couple of things that are not 100 % functional. The passing game is one thing we are still working on, and new adjustments will be released tomorrow and on Monday next week.

If you want to report an incident or a bug in a match, please write about it in the forum. Always specify the id of the match and at what time the incident occur."

Well I've just had my first match in an fl with the new sim against robbies united. I used meatwall, 40-5 sc's in my favour but I only ended up scoring 3 goals :confused:

Gonna try a new tactic against Boosted this evening.

Lost my first game 2-0 with more scoring chances (and I think more possession). Not sure which tactics were used because stats are still being collected.

I like the sound of through balls being implemented. If you have some decent passers in the midfield playing against a high defence you should be able to take advantage.

Cross Balls (or lack of) is messing up a lot of people with Long Balls tactics. I've switched to Short Passing again.

Also ... meatwall is dead? AFC Heywood are a fairly decent team who play the meatwall, but they got crushed 4-0 with 37-4 SCs in my favour using my patent-pending Christmas Tree formation.

Corners are A LOT better. Instead of it looking like the formations squeezed into the 18 yard box, and running off when the corner is taken, they actually wait for the ball to arrive instead.

Pity about the one-on-ones ... my swede needed about 20 chances to get one goal :(

Is it anything to do with passes around the back for strikers to run onto? I don't have live so can't see, but when I saw that on the list, I thought it could end the meatwalls dominance (if it works)

I have three mids on seven passing each, will try to exploit this, one maxed, another's still improving, other not sure. Have the potential to get some decent through balls to my strikers. :D

It's dead...balls are put behind the defence and the strikers just latch on. Probably only THEE best can use it and still get results, but not good ones...or unless you play a bollocks team. Anyway, won my first match 5-0 then my second match just there was with Real Ginge lost 3-0 at his stadium 17-3 SC but I blame that on my strikers stopping every time the ball bounced, had it not done that I think my SC would have been in the double figures. They'll most likely fix it with the next update though.

EDIT: I also have to tell you that my cousin is Scotland, no not the one with the guy in the Scotland squad...the other one is ranked 199th and he's hardly ever on! Top ranked in Scotland lol lucky little pri...:p

Hmm, I just watched the first game with the new simulator LIVE.

A few thoughts...speed has become extremely important, I've just seen a few of my players speeding around and actually being faster than the others..

I can also imagine Stamina has become more important with this...

Next: Play intelligence and Headers...and ofcourse PASSING!!

Play intelligence sometimes needed because players don't realise where the ball is heading to, my players with better p.i noticed this...

The players also make some combinations in the penalty box, if one is surrounded with a few players, he will pass a high ball to another, my 18 year old striker scored a beautiful header like this.

Passing...with me, most long passes don't work, although some of the players have great passing skills...I will see when the definite version is out and watch every game until then...

Long passes are (or were) determined by 'cross balls' which might explain it.

Or it might be just that passing is still 'experimental'.

From what the people with Live have said it sounds promising. I might get a Live package for a month and see for my self.

Have you seen all the responses in the MZ Talk forum? So many people complaining...

I don't know, it actually looks more realistic this way, except when players run away from the ball or all of them stop because one is running after it...all in all, for an alpha version I'm satisfied.

Hehe well I only play short passes...watch my game with Real Ginge and you'll see what he means :p Long balls all the way!

Heh I saw that, don't worry Blue, it's happened before and is being fixed.

Can't wait for passing to be improved and shooting or keeping, whatever's the problem with so little goals from so much more chances.

Just played with "elite" 0-0...funny game to watch...I think crew is going the right way, but needs to fix a few bugs in the code.

You used short passes and offensive style?

For what it's worth, I used Long Balls / Offensive / Aggressive.

But I don't think the choice of Long Balls/Short Passing really makes a difference at the moment :D
