I used that tactic, POLI (except with 3 forwards) and it worked pretty well... today I tried doing what UTI said, and I lost 4-0 at home, outchanced 16-1 sooo ya, I'm sticking with the original
I very much doubt moving one striker back into a forward position has a negative effect on your defence seeing as the strikers are for attacking and play a minimal role when not in posession of the ball.

yeha i used the one that UT told me. and lost 4-1 maybe il play some more games so players get used to the new tactic
hmm i dont think that tactic is good for me. i so far lost everygame and not just close games. lost tem 5-0 6-0 and so on. hmmm
Your tactic should look like this:
If it does look like the above image, then please scrap it as it is doing your team no favours as your players are obviously not suited to the tactic.
My knowledge of creating success for others is limited. I could sit here all day creating tactics, however without the knowledge of knowing the calibre of players I would be working with, then it is impossible to get the most out of them and use their skills to the best of my advantage.
If you have a team with attributes which are good in cross balls, then use long ball. If a lot of your team have high tackling attributes, then there is no need for an aggressive approach and unnecessary yellow and red cards.

Hi there UpTheIron!
I have no clue who you are but you sure seem to like tactics like I do. I therefore have a question to you where you can get even more information than you can get from most users. I have a website where I have put all my player stats on and together with two pics of two formations, one old formation, and one new formation, I'd like you to comment what you think about them.
The first one is the one I have used until now and the last one is the one I will test. Why I make that little change in my tactic is just because my number 10, that will say Jonatan "The Flash" Lindgren, isn't performing as good as he can and the wrong players get the chances to score. I have only played one game with the new tactic and The Flash scored a lot in that game, so it looks promising.
Do you think you can guess what style of playing I use and so? And what style would you use? Well, I'm looking forward to an answer. Kinda like tactic discussions. =)
Uhm.. This is the first time where I try to post with pictures in and stuff so it might turn out wrong. We'll see... =) Oh, and my web site with all players on has the url: http://medlem.spray.se/hawkmoon/
Hello, Hawkmoon. I'm an English GA, and yes, I, alike you, also am fond for discussing tactics.
Both of your tactics are very different. I'll start with your old one, on the left.
Old tactic:
A flat back three, it's very popular, and bizarrely effective which is understandable due to the lack of width. It's always a good idea.
I would wager your wingbacks, #5, and #6 are key players. Not only would they cut out attacks down the wing, they would also create quite a lot of chances.
#8, and #9, the inside-midielders, they would be used for defending also, however they would link up with the wingbacks, while also using #7 as a link-up player, and creating the chances. I would expect these two players to be playing an imperative role within your team.
#7 as I have already mentioned is tricky. He would be picked up by a lot of players, and if on a counter-attack, he would be extremely hard to pick-up.
#10 and #11 are specifcally not as close as they can get to one another. Instead, they're quite wide, and this enables the wingbacks to be introduced into the game a whole lot more which means the team will be working as a unit
New tactic:
Flat back three as I have already stated, extremely effective.
The wingbacks and midfielders have a lot more support here as #7 and #11 drop off and play as a link-up unit. They are purposely wide to intorduce the wingbacks into the game a lot more.
Your lone-striker, #10 is going to have to be of an exceptional quality to play alone. If he is encompassed in the attributed such as; play intelligence; speed; stamina; ball control; shooting; heading; then yes, this tactic could be extremely effective.
I would also recommend that you play attacking football due to your crowded midfield will give the opposition very little room, and by bombarding the opposition with an influx of attacks, then you will eventually get on the mark.
As you have said, if 'the flash' scored a reasonable amount of goals with the new tactic, then use that. If you're scoring adequate amounts of goals, then you should have no fault because you have 8 players defending.
With your new tactic I would wager you are playing:
Mentality: Attacking
Style: Short passing / Wing play.
Aggression: Normal
A very nice website too with easy navigation, and as I can see, 'the flash' is a player which is indispensible to not only Hawkmoon, but to your latest tactic.
