New Kits 2007/2008

what I would like to know is are they really going to one year rotations on national team kits now, too? this is pathetic, i mean are they really planning on trying to sell kits that wouldn't even be worn in a major competition (ie 09/10 kits)?
I used to buy a new United jersey from each cycle, but that was one every two years. I quit when they started making it so they'd be outdated in 12 months. It makes no sense to me at all.

argentinian kit looks like hell!!!

come one bloody adidas
That ugly sky blue bit where the number goes ruins the kit, not as if the black number can't be seen over stripes (stupid number "clarity" laws - waste of f'n time) (N)

I that depends on the country and the brand. In the case of Argentina it's a 2 years rotation, the current kits were featured in November/December of 2005 and these new ones are expected to see the light around the same time this year and would be used until 2009(could be but could be not, i am unaware about the expiring date of the contract between AFA and Adidas, which means nothing because they could renew it). So the current ones are 05/07 and these new ones will be 07/09.

As usual the away one will be the best one.:o

the kits for big competitions get invented the year before, expect to see all new kits for most european teams on the last matchday of Euro Qualification. ;)

germany current kit was invented in october 05, now it gets replaced, october / november 07.

Pity Umbro has had to sell out. The last thing you need is just a few big players in the kit market because then we'll get more and more generic kits :(

Yeah its a shame but unfortunately that's the thing with business these days, the big guns swallow everyone else up. Its come at a time when Umbro have started expanding their supply to more teams - last time they had 6 Premier League teams wearing their kits was more than 10 years ago.

Hopefully it'll be like what majestic7 said it'll be another Adidas/Reebok situation, one owns the other but still remain seperate brands with their own designs.

No, they've just been leaked early.

Nice home kit but something tells me I've seen that design somewhere before

Design style looks similar don't you think (just the other side of the shirt)

Umbro gets probably bought by Nike - but will remain like Reebok/Adidas...

Are you sure? Seeing as unlike Reebok, Umbro is only about football, isn't it? I hope it will co-exist with Nike still.

yes. the buyout should be unnoticeable to fans. umbro will continue to use its brand on kits.

I don't know why MLS clubs insist on plastering the name of the city or team across the chest of the shirt... I guess that's how we do it in North America, but it just looks funny...

unless there's a shirt sponsor, it's just the way it is. sure, blank fronts always look the best. but it is what it is.

who said anything about kits being renewed each year?

as stated above, the current national team kits were introduced in late '05 for the '06 world cup. the new kits will be released in late '07 and continue to be used until '09, just in time for new kits for the 2010 world cup.

Listed as only one year (albiet starting in early '08). It'll probably stay on 2 year rotation, but the way it's written in the original post kind of freaked me out.

I think while 08/09 would mean one season for club teams, it tends to represent two full years for national teams since the major competitions take place in the summer.

This is probably a bit off topic but heregoes anyway. These are the away and 3rd kits of Bromley FC from the Blue Square south and I want your opinion on which one to get.
