New Kits 2007/2008

The England shirt is terrible - the worst home shirt that Umbro has produced for England, which now sits nicely alongside the worst away shirt that Umbro has produced for England. The blue diamond logos on the shoulder are completely unnecessary, and the red line on the front looks very odd. Also, the number should be in the middle, and the Umbro logo on the front should not be in gold!! There should not be another Umbro logo on the right arm, as it looks very tacky - it is an England shirt, not an advert.

I will not be buying this shirt - I do hope that Umbro come out of their poor-shirt phase with a good away shirt next year. Why can't we have a shirt with the quality of the last one, or the classic 2001-2003 one?

All that build-up and excitement for nothing. I'm glad that I didn't pre-order it!!

I thought Umbro learn't their lession that less crap is good from the last home kit.

There's not even a significan't reference to the St George Cross in this kit.

The Cricket shirts look better.

Why is people getting the idea that all the teams that wear Adidas will all wear that ****ty model? Eventually some will use the same model of Mexico's.

You can only do so many things with the St. George cross. Umbro are now officially using England's most tangible national symbol as a crutch. Anyway, enjoy wasting another 40 quid on the shirt that the Three Lions will surely wear to failure, whether it is later this year, or next summer in the Alps.

Huh? Owen has always been with Umbro.

... But I'm guessing you were talking about the other Owen (Hargreaves)!! Indeed strange. Maybe he hasn't got a specific contract. Or maybe now, he does.

Anyway, I won't be "wasting 40 quid" on this one thanks a lot. Havent bought an England away kit since 98 so maybe this is a good opportunity, we'll see what it is like next season.

Compared to the home one this one is so-so.(:/) The back is all white.
Apparently there will be a third one with inverted colours.

Apparently Aston Villa has secured a long term deal with Nike to sponsor them from season 2007/2008 onwards. Cant see this one coming as to my knowledge. Nike only sponsors the big guns, no disrespect to Villa whatsoever.

True, but my guess would be that Nike is trying to gain a bigger presence (club-wise) is the Premiership. Just 5 years ago, Nike supplied four teams (Arsenal, Manchester United, Sunderland & Leeds United) now they have only two. Plus, Villa have great promise with Martin O'Neill as their manager & young talents such as Gabriel Agbonlahor & John Carew.

Independiente away & third 07/08

Well the away one doesn't look bad, but the third one is horrible it looks like they combined the blue keeper shirt and the old third shirt to make it, and more llikely we don't need a third shirt even.:boohoo:

It known that Independiente once again will be ALL RED for the home kit, with red shorts and red socks too. Just like it always should've been.

The new shirts will all have a serial number like seen in my previous post, making each shirt unique, apparently they will make some kind of promotion and give different kind of gifts(tickets, gear, etc) to the owners of the serial numbers.
