NEW! Biggy's Gameplay Update For FIFA 06 V.2 !

Haha, nice goal, I can imagine how it went, but never seen one by the CPU until now, (send us the replay if possible)...

I'm really impressed by this latest update, v2.6, for the first time since I used the first update by billy, The CPU attacks more, the ball bounces and flies extremely imitating a real football, I mean I've recorded many in-game clips and compared them side to side with real soccer matches and the results were stunning! And the most important thing is that the pace is as slow as possible without ruining the fun of playing this game.

Of course I got to tweak some stuff here and there, and I hope that EA sports would do something different for the coming FIFA 07, I wish... :rolleyes:

Anyways, I'll keep updating you all with anything new, for now, I'm going to lead My national team "Bahrain" to the finals of the world cup (of course inside the game). :)

Just played on world class for 16 mins and drew 2-2 with Arsenal playing with Real Madrid. Felt a lot like my v3 since the AI for WC is the same as that except my keeper was much better (equal to CPU), I enjoyed it. Ball physics were cool, looking better with a more realistic fall. The game was a bit too tight at times, like 3 players' around the ball, although the player positioning is set to 21, which was the same as v3, as I recall I needed to fix that because the playing style did become rather unrealistic in the fact that you can't pass anywhere. Try setting the positioning to 30 if you want a more open game, but still be tracked down faster. It will also give the defenders more space and will be harder to break through them since they'll hold back a bit more.

The game ran well, the frame rate didn't seem as smooth as before but that might be my computer and the hard drive gettin filled up or something. It was a difficult match to play.

Anyway, it's looking good.

Thanks NK, I appreciate your feedback. :)

I still didn't get what you mean by suggesting to change positioning from 21 to 30?!! I mean that there is no value in any of the codes that I packed that has a value equal to 21, adding to this the Goalkeeper skills' in v2.6 are the same for the CPU and human!

Are you sure that you are looking in the right files? Because I recall that the problems with the big differences between goalies was present in your original v3 which I didn't include in the v2.6.

no no only WC goalies are both 66. The WC AI is identical to v3 except the user goalkeeper is equal to the CPU, a value of 66 :) The others difficulty modes have different values.

as for the 21 value;
// Ball player to player avoidance
BPAVOID_RADIUS = 21.2

21.2, that decimal of '2' won't make a big difference, so I rounded it to 21.

NK, I'll check out your suggestion soon. :)

Red_devils, I'll look into this issue too, as I also believe that there is something wrong in the free kick system of all the gameplay updates until now, I'll try making it more reasonable and real.

I wish that I would have kept that Sheringham replay as well but that bug occurred where when it goes to the kikcoff cam after the goal and you try to see the replay, it doesn't go back past the view of the kickoff cam. Bad luck.

Uhm, no one noticed that the 2.6 seems a bit easy? I mean.. I tried for first with Millonarios of Colombia, and I won 4 of the 6 matches played, scoring a medium of 2,5 goals for match; in my second year of career now I have been hired by Unterhaching in Bundesliga 2 and I won 3 on 3 matches all with great results: 3-0, 3-1, 4-0: do I miss something? I've used the 2.6 version as it is and I start to find it easy, maybe could this be related with the intensty.txt settings I have? Could you post the intensty settings your using or are you using the original ones? (anyway could you post the original ones)

This because with NK v3 (but with gk at 63/63) I found the game hard enough, but with the limitation that I did something like 15/20 shots at goal and 0 goals, or 1, maximum 2 while the CPU had 2/4 shots with 1/2 goals (most frequent result was 0-0, that is very good, but the matches were more a siege by me). Please help me: I really wanna play matches that are hard, but well played by the CPU. Thanks.

Hey OckHAM, I think that it is about the intensty.txt file that you have, I'm using a generated one by me that I think maybe the best intensty.txt tweak possible, I keep tweaking it every now and then just to see how good it can get, and I think that you'll like the results.

I've attached the file with this post.

From looking at that intensity file, it should be good. I'm of course making a new one for V6, I had no doubt you'd release one too after V5. :) this is almost like you're competing with me, are you Biggy? haha.

I had many thoughts of releasing it from long ago, but I couldn't find an easier way to install it than the steps you had, which I think are little bit complicated for the new people or the people who want just an easy click-install type of patches.

I'll try finding some new way to install it easier and I'll let you know as soon as I do. :)

Peace!

Using the fsdata utility is the best utility (it replaces files of the installer finding them in the original zdata). Anyway I tried these new settings and I'm very sad to report that I'm still winning in an extra-easy way: 1-0 the first match with 17 shots vs 1, and 5-0 the second match with 22 shots vs 3!! I think I'll revert again to nk v3: seems like these settings work with very bad teams (Colombia league) but with better ones the gameplay starts to be extremely easy. A bit depressing anyway :( I'd really like to find an equilibrium that makes the game hard without being a siege against superhuman goalkeepers.

The problem is, if the keepers aren't good, then the accuracy of shots has to be difficult (realistic). If the shooting accuracy is easy and keepers aren't very good then you'll score plenty of goals. I'm working on very skillful goalkeepers, VERY skillfull for both CPU and user, yet a way of tuning which allows goals to be scored but not one after the other like in many updates. This will keep scores realistic, shooting at goal diverse and scoring more rewarding.

Hopefully... haha.

Hey Ockham, do you have a copy of NK's V3.0, I'd like to see the files and I mistakenly deleted it:( Or if NK still has it or is it still up on Sweetpatch? I'll check.

I'm not sure whats contained in the 2.6 as I still had the 2.5 + the files I've modded myself and all I can say is that its tought to score and I always have a shot advantage but it seems like I threatened by the CPU constantly. Are you playing on Legendary Ockham?

I have NK's intensity settings but I think it might be better w/o it.
I will try your settings Biggy.
I also tried what NK suggested in this thread with seeting the Ball Player avoidance higher (I set it to 28 or something) and the defenders seemed to lay off a bit more. I also extended the time that the CPU used to call in the second defender and that way more defenders aren't pulled away with the ball.

..and since people actually read this thread....has anybody come across a scoreboard patch that changes the very pedestrian EA scoreboard? I hate it. I'm also looking for a patch I once saw that took the night glare off players heads at night games. ...ok back to gameplay...:):)
