NBA Playoffs Thread 2007

I like it. I know Simmons hates the Miami White Out too, but I think it's a cool effect. It's not quite as cool in the NBA as it is at, say, a major College Football Game, but still cool.

Nebraska's Sea of Red or a Penn State White Out are really cool.

ya I love it too... the Calgary Flames' Red Sea and the Philly Flyer's Orange Crush are probably my 2 favourites (Y)

Yeah I thought it was really cool at first but now it's just getting old. Every team is starting to do it.

AI and Melo are gonna knock off the Spurs.

You really think so? I was thinking about this a lot last night after the game ended. If they can keep up what they did last night for the entire series, yeah I believe it's possible but Pop is a better coach than that. They're gonna come out in game 2 with a whole different attitude and a changed game plan that will catch the Nuggets off-guard.

Speaking of which, how about Don Nelsons game plan against the Mavs? Amazing! He held the "MVP" to 14 points by throwing at least 4 different guys at him and ALWAYS double-teaming him off the weak side when he would turn. Baron Davis was jeezin all over the Mavs defense too. If Dirk wins the MVP over Nash it will be a travesty.

I don't know if will actually happen obviously, but the NBA is a very star oriented league. Teamwork is definitely important, but a star can carry a team far. Denver has two legit SUPERSTARS and they also have Camby, who's a top 5 center in the league, Nene, who's a great rebounder, Blake who can run a team as long as he doesn't have to score, and J.R. Smith who can score in bunches, but since he won't be asked to do that, at least he can knock down open 3's.

I think the Spurs have their work cut out for them. Duncan's toughest matchup in the West is probably Camby, Bowen is past it, and there's no freakin way Parker or Ginobili can touch AI.

They have one thing going for them though Pop > Karl

yup, exactly what I said... if it was the regular season, I guarantee we would've won it. but everytime we made a run and made it close, the Nets went on a run of their own and just drained the crowd of all its energy, it was so nerve racking

and Rocky, recede back into whatever swamp you crawled out of.

There's no swamps anywhere near me so look for a better comeback next time.

that was the best sporting experience ever, so amazing, too bad we lost though, we came back to within 1 point so many times and just couldn't take the lead :( but ya, we DESTROYED Vince, everytime he got booed he felt the need to take the shot and missed (H) and when he went to the line, it was PRICELESS

Everyone: VC SUCKS! VC SUCKS!
*misses free throw*
Everyone: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! VC SUCKS! VC SUCKS!
*makes 2nd free throw*
Me (while its dead silent): YOU STILL SUCK! YOU STILL SUCK!

got a few laughs from my section haha (H) I got some amazing pictures, and just for you Hope, I GOT ONE WITH THE SWIRSK!!! I was standing RIGHT there in front of the Raptors TV table talk thingy, we were absolutely killing it with random chants (VC SUCKS, lets go raptors, Sherminator, "Hello!!" ala Carlos Armstrong, and randomly "JYD" (H)!)

it was so amazing except for the loss though :(

oh, and I made it onto Yahoo Sports:

haha my shirt ruled, I'm so creative... and evil looking :)
HAHAH atta' boy!!! Rony Toma I am one proud bitch, of you, right now. Meh, I wish I had the access to playoff tickets.

I happened to be on a end-of-school roadtrip in Montreal for the past 4 days, and I caught this game at Champs Bar with a bunch of Raptor fans. There was chanting and banging beer glasses, but totally not the same as the ACC atmosphere. :(

And Carlos*y, strong pic. (H)

Series tied now, but I don't think Raptors should be that happy winning a close game at home, they should have won by more with all the turnovers the Nets had. Well a split is nice either way so I'll take it.

I'd rather win a game like that, we really grinded it out, actually showed some character and pulled through (Y)

PS: VC ******* sucks. he's AP's bitch. there I said it.

Yep, he can screw his extension if he plays like this again. I was sitting there thinking man I cant believe the Nets actually drafted this Parker character.
