this liverpool game is one of the most important in recent times ... I think 4-1-4-1 is best for us based on current squad ...

I am not too confident about this game. I don't like 4 1 4 1 because this isolates Zlatan.

or even 4-3-3 ... the thing is we dont have traditional wingers and Pogba double pivot doesnt seem to wrok ...

I agree with that midfield trio. Schneiderlin should also be tried there. However, Martial needs to start. I'd start him over Rashford.

Yeah, it seems Blind is doing better than Shaw at LB at the moment and It seems Smalling-Baily starting to form a good partnership.

I think we should play like this:

De Gea
Valencia-Smalling-Baily-Blind
Schneiderlin
Mata Pogba
Rashford(Lingard) Martial
Ibra

I hate double pivot ...

Pogba is following the legacy of Kleberson and Djemba Djemba. What a stupid move it was leaving Juventus for a EL team with Mou2003rinho as coach.

He came from a league where the stars are players like Salah, Cuadrado and Gervinho. Players who were EPL flops. Someone who is one of the better players in Serie A and decides to stay there is someone with no ambition.

What? Schneiderlin has barely played this season and when he has, he has hardly convinced anybody.

You're taking out Ander Herrera who's shown plenty of promise even when playing in a unnatural role for him next to Pogba basically as a DM/box-to-box MF? Which takes the strain off of Pogba when it comes to defensive duties.

Rashford is a striker and playing him on the right wing seems like a waste to me. Playing both Martial and Rashford who'd be acting as inside forwards/wingers whatever wouldn't make much sense, especially considering the fact that we're lacking a proper system anyways and a reliable DM.

I'd like us to go with Ibra/Rashford - Martial , Mata , Mkhitaryan - Pogba , Ander Herrera and the fucking defence. The Armenian better get his act together lol.

Or... It's not Mourinho's style, but what about a narrow 4-4-2?

Rashford and Ibra at the top, Martial on the left, proper DM that we're missing in the middle alongside with Pogba with Miky on the right? (maybe I've been watching too much of Atlético).

Have you even watched them for their respective clubs in Serie A before making a comment like that? Neither of them got much of a chance to prove themselves at Chelsea. Salah showed glimpses of promise while the Colombian joined mid-season, had difficulties with the language, adapting to the team and league - so you basically cannot judge the latter based on that.

Truth be told he hasn't exactly shined for the Colombian NT recently either, I watch every match, but he hasn't done badly either, same goes clublevel. The problem with Colombian NT is that there is a huge lack of creativity in the midfield, especially without James. You start fucking Macnelly Torres and what on earth do you expect? Don't get me started on Medina.

At least Carlito Sanchez has been fantastic and Aguilar is back (he's old and slow though).. And the forwards haven't been producing much either (Luis Muriel y Bacca).

Anyway this got me rambling again, point is that don't bring out examples of players you know nothing about (Salah & Cuadrado).

What a masterclass by Mourinho.

He inherited a broken team. A team that finished 7th, 4th and 5th in the last 3 seasons. It was never going to be an easy job. Some managers take up the best, least challenging, almost flawless team in the league all the time.

0-0 against Liverpool at Anfield is a decent result given that they are good on form. I was expecting them to beat us. I do not have high expectations this year. This performance was not ideal but would be considered decent enough even under Fergie. Nothing can match Man U v/s Liverpool rivalry. Liverpool always play against Man U as if it is the world cup final and victory against us is usually the only thing Liverpool fans have been celebrating every season for all these league title barren years.

Stop being silly. Salah, Cuadrado and Gervinho are/have been Serie A superstars. Don't use language as an excuse. It doesn't matter on the pitch.

Eh? Salah and Gervinho started out in the EPL before Serie A. Gervinho was and is rubbish to this day, but Salah showed plenty of promise for Chelsea to be honest, but considering the fact that they disregarded De Bruyne as well then it sort of makes sense as in he didn't really have much of a chance of breaking into the first team. He's doing alright at Roma.

Cuadrado is fucking quality and always has been. Check this and this out. Random stuff but shows what he's capable of. Quality watching whether you've seen them before or not nevertheless.

And by they way, hey! Don't try to hide behind sarcasm.

Liverpool always play against Man U as if it is the world cup final and victory against us is usually the only thing Liverpool fans have been celebrating every season for all these league title barren years.

True, but do you remember back in the Fergie days when every team that used to come to Old Trafford were hoping for a point max.. And were taking their home game the same way as you described it. It seems that those days are slowly fading, unfortunately. Anyway it's not like we're in some extreme slump. We've had worse starts to the season before. If it doesn't improve once the end of December comes, then it's cause for a worry IMO.

Oh and tits.
Gervinho was not always rubbish. He won the title for Lille and was pretty useful for us up to a point. Killed it in Roma. Salah showed no promise at Chelsea. He hardly got any games and again killed it in Fiore and then Roma.

This reinforces my point that he is a star for Serie A and shit for a real league like the EPL. Can he do that in the EPL? He hasn't showed it.

Here are some of Herrera's stats against Liverpool:

100 percent dribble success (5 of 5 completed)
11 interceptions
7 successful tackles

This is terrific. He should be the deep lying player and Fellaini should not lay again. Fellaini is a great ball winner but has poor passing range. Because of his limited passing range. Pogba has to drop deep to fetch the ball from him.

Respect other leagues, specially when EPL teams flop in Europe year after year... United is not a half the team Juventus is.

I do respect other leagues. Serie A is a one team league. Serie A has fallen a lot over the years. In our generation we have seen a very strong Serie A in the early to mid 2000s where there would always be 3-4 teams competing for the league. Now Juventus is far ahead from the rest. The competitiveness in this league has fallen.

So you're comparing Man U to Juventus. The team that finished 7th, 4th and 5th in the league in the last 3 seasons to the team that has won 4 back to back Serie A titles. Shows a lot about the superiority of the EPL.
