Okay, look. I know that Bonds is an unredeemable prick who's juicing ways have been circumstantiated about as well as can be, but DAMNIT if I wasn't engrossed and captivated by this remarkable chase over the last couple of months, man.
See, I was living in the Bay area when he first got to SFO and he was probably one of my favorite sports idols behind Griffey at that time so I've always had this offbeat soft spot for 'em that most San Franciscans also do, you know?
Anyway, those two last HRs, the one that tied it and this one that broke it, they were one of the most emotional sports moments for me, man. I was irrationally choking up actually last night watching that FSN feed, man......it was weird, the impact that it had on me......wasn't expecting that sort of response at all, man. I really can't think of a bigger, more significant sports moment in my life.....honestly. This is probably gonna be the most historic and noteworthy sport moment that I'm ever gonna witness.
It's just one of those "Moments" that everyone (atleast here in North America) will be able to instantly recall and remember all the little details of.....Where? SFO......off of who? The Nationals....against Mike Bacsik......the count? The ever suspenseful 3/2 count.......to the right of centre......430ft+++++
I realize that most of the East Coast was dead asleep when he hit it, but I really feel that this was one of those (here's that word again) culturally shared moments that make the hair on the back of yer head stand no matter how much you might happen to despise the mother****er, man.
