I posted this morning with regards to EA's advertising revenue tainting your views on the game, not one of you had the balls to reply and now you delete my post ?........
What, did I hit a nerve ?...........

I didn't delete it.

My views on the game? When have I given my views on the game... I haven't. I leave it up to you to decide if you like the game or not.

I report facts, such as what is in the game and what is not.

If EA want to advertise with us... then good. Because without companies like EA advertising then we would close down, simple as that. SG is hugely popular and requires a lot of money to operate so we need companies advertising.

Didnt delete the post?...then what did it do ...fall off?......

Im not arguing with your advertising and revenue methods what Im saying is if you read my other post that if you guys are previewing the game then why dont you comment on the negative side of things and hopefully get things changed before the release ?. After all we rely on you guys to point out faults, you are our voice to the developers.
After reading the previews its obvious that you dont want to report anything negative. Now come on, look at this whole control issue....and the ridiculous patching method.

Were the menu's the same in the preview copy you saw?.....then why didnt you comment on how clumsy they are?...the control configuration ?.......

Your loyalties should lie with your readers.......

lol.....I keep getting replies but yet no one steps up and answers my concerns.....

Let this be a lesson to the forum readers..........dont trust everything you read

?...what do I mean?...read the 3rd post, or the original that mysteriously vanished. No one from Soccergaming has come forward and explained why they didnt mention these faults when previewing the game.

Let me guess, the version they previewed didnt have the ****ty menu's and tha lack of controller option

Well pal. I don't know what happened with your post. But I DO know that there's now a patch that allows you to configure your gamepad/keyboard (even though it didn't work for me).

See ya!

PES...your joking right?...that patch is a friggin joke.

yet another f/up by EA..........

the game has merits but its a very amatuer job compared to the time and effort going into other EA sports games (Madden).

Man, you need to calm down a bit.

I did not delete your post. There are a lot of people who could of, but I didn't. The way your posts are written I would not be surprised if one of the mods deleted it. We are sick of new people registering just to get all worked up and complain about how EA "never listen" and how they "never read these boards". When in reality for the past 2 years they have been.

And when I preview the game, I did not give opinions. I talked about what is in the game, and what isn't. At the time I previewed the game, it was not possible to make comments on aspects of the game that were not perfect, as it was expected they would be fixed by release.

Our review of the game at www.soccergaming.com mentions many of the aspects of FIFA 2004 that are not up to scratch. That is why the game received a score of 87/100 and not higher.

It is not only I who can tell the developers what is wrong with FIFA 2004. This is exactly what these forums are for. The FIFA team read them every day so any complaint that is made is read. Rest assured, when they ask me for feedback I certainly list the major issues of the game which are either considered incomplete or not perfect.

Lets see if you can reply in a less "hot-headed" manner now...

Matt,
Im not hot headed, maybe it came across that way, and if so then it obviously got you to reply.
I mention your name because as far as I can tell your the main man and so if it is one of your cohorts then maybe they need to reassess their position.
I accept that you preview games that are not finished but is it also a forum where you can speak up and say for instance how ridiculous this whole patch thing is?.

If you read my posts I have not been derogatory to anyone nor have I dissed you personally, Im just tired of all this "stop whining" crap. $50 is $50.

I just call it like I see it and to "work around" the nuances of this game is excusing bad programming.

"Always good around this time of year when new people (like yourself) turn up for a good old whinge"

LOL...yeah....sure Matt

And I didnt register just to complain and bitch, check when I registered.......you'll see it was before the game was released

We are sick of new people registering just to get all worked up and complain about how EA "never listen" and how they "never read these boards".

Still, it should be possible for people buying Fifa 2004 to sign up here and post their opinions about it - dont you wonder why the amount of those ppl are larger than the amount signing up to praise the game?

It is not only I who can tell the developers what is wrong with FIFA 2004. This is exactly what these forums are for.

Yes, and thats why it seems strange that posts that are the least bit negative are getting deleted. What would help the Fifa team if they only see positive threads here? It'd surely make them believe they made an awesome game thus not having to concentrate much harder for Fifa 2005. Thats how i interpret it anyway.

And yes, I'm one of the people with few post counts as Ive just recently signed up and yes, my main preference is PES3 and not Fifa 2004 - but whats the problem about "my kind of people" bringing up negative criticism about Fifa 2004? Surely theres room for both negative and positive.

I agree with US blades, we should have a right to our say, we should have a right to complain to ea. $50 is a good sum of money think about the revenue ea got from producing a game that doens't function properly.

Thanks for replying guys, I thought it was me against the mods then........

And if whinging is complaining about an inferior product that you can not admit too then im a big whinger.

You can complain in a mature manner. Using the word "sux" in your topic is not a good start. There are plenty of well put together threads in this forum with complaints in them that have not been deleted.

We do not need 100 threads started about screenshots (eg. we made a Multimedia thread to solve this problem) and we also do not need 100 threads dedicated to the exact same complaints about the exact same features. This is why certain posts are deleted, as they are taking up space with complaints that have already been made on numerous occasions.

The exact same thing would occur if 20 people posted a positive topic saying how much they liked the new OTB control. We would close some topics (telling people that this is already being discussed in another thread) and delete any further ones that are opened while the original topic is still being used.

This is simply how we do things around here. I very much encourage you to go elsewhere if you are not happy with our policies... as as you can tell our servers are quite slow during peak times so a drop in visitor numbers would certainly be welcomed. :)

You're right. Although its different how people interpret "mature" - you should remember that many youngsters are playing the game as well, and todays youth and mature language doesnt really fit, unfortunately.

I just think you're focusing too much on the negative posts compared to the positive ones. I've read quite many posts about the OTB control so maybe it would be a good idea to make a sticky topic about the OTB and ask people to post in that thread if they have a comment about OTB control.

And as I wrote earlier it seems like the mods only focuse on the negative posts so they should equally delete (as you wrote) all the unnecessary positive posts - which they havent been done like they've done with the negative ones.

Mature response there Matt.

One last thing..........you said you deleted the threads because they were lies, then why dont you delete the threads that claim "Fifa 2004 is awesome" or "Fifa 2004 is the best".

They are all lies......or as I would call them "Opinions".

We are entitled to our opinions and starting a new thread with regards to a subject is our choice, people dont have to read it. Thats why we title the threads, so you know whats in them and if a title says "Advertising $$'s taint reviews" you can pretty much tell what its about.
Now to delete that because it was lies...well Matt, we only have your word on that.....and judging by your response what are we to think. EA is a big company and if you are too blind to see that Fifa pales in comparison to there other series then dude journalism is not your thing.
This is supposed to be a "mature" forum to discuss a product that people "Pay" for and we have aright to "bitch" Whinge" and say what we feel, and if you dont like that on your website then maybe you should have a sticky that says this.

We need to agree to disagree. I'm not going to keep giving you my point of view, as you simply don't agree with it. Some of the points you make are just incorrect, but you can have that opinion if you want.

Matt, I respect your position on this website but you have not addressed the issues.
You say that some of my points are incorrect....which ones?......and some of the people you assign Mod status too need to be checked, I get a feeling they are on "powertrips"...."Ill delete it because I can".

As you can tell from my posts that I am not a teenager but a veteran gamer and happen to write for a very popular gaming magazine here in the States (and im sure some of you have worked out which mag).
I would like to see Soccergaming and fifa04.com mature into a website that tells its readers straight.
Look at sites such as ve3d.com or shacknews.com , there the webmasters / mods will straight up say if a game is lacking or warn you not to bother downloading patches or demos.

All we ever see on your websites are posts with regards to availability or news items but you dont seem to value your readers enough to give them your opinion or negative thoughts.

Let me end by saying that I respect the job you do and applaud your efforts on the site and admire your loyalty which seems to be more towards EA then your readers.

Peace.
