Marcos - new Arsenal no.1 goalie?

Marcos is a great goalkeeper. Like all good GKs, he has good and bad moments. There are matches that he's incredible, there are times that he fails. Everyone has good and bad moments. That's normal.

Remember that: when Palmeiras won Libertadores, Marcos was elected as the best player in that cup, even being a GK.

All 3 GKs of Brazil in last WC are good, with excelent reflex. The worst of them is Dida in my opinion.

Rogério Ceni is a excelent GK too. And he also scores in free kicks, like Chilavert. He scores around 25 since 1997, when he made his first free kick.

There are more good GKs here: Júlio César, Fábio Costa, Hélton and more I don't remember now.

Another thing to remember: brazilian GKs always confront the best strikes of the world. So, they deserve to be called good. May not the best, but even as good as several good GKs around the world.

I can still see that Man Utd cross ending with Keane's goal in the Toyota Cup...
Marcos did well in the Libertadores, but then again, the style of play in England and S. America is totally different...

I can't remember seeing Marcos (or any brazilian gk) vs Kluivert or Shevchenko or Nistelrooy... or Rivaldo, Ronaldo.......
I think he'd struggle in the Premiership...

you never know...

Marcos is a pretty good goalie, but I don't know if he can handle the english premier league. I'm very happy to see a brazilian goalie going to england, but I hope he don't do just like Fu**ing DIDA did when he first moved to AC Milan...
good luck for Marcos and Arsenal.

cheers mates!

If Marcos wants to prove that he's one of the top goalkeepers in the world he'll have to play in Europe, but perhaps not for a big club like Arsenal straight away. For Arsenal, he will be put under the microscope from the word go and he might struggle with the intense pressure, while also trying to adjust to the European style of game.
