After yesterday's poor performance, I have revised my side a bit.
I went with 4-4-2 Diamond formation because it allows us to play a CDM which can provide coverage in front of the back 4 when we're on the attack. This also allows a bit of cover when the opposition goes on a counter.
Also this allows us to get De Jong or Blind to play that CDM role which we lacked yesterday IMO. I went with ADM7 and Herrera to play centre Mids BUT have the freedom to push wide in attack especially for ADM7. We needed players (especially Central) that are willing run at them and beat them with their skills and ADM7 and Herrera has the confidence and will to do that. Not like Cleverley and Fletcher who were like afraid to run at their defence and become a threat.
I just hope this 3-5-2 formation goes into the rubbish bin now then never because at the moment, we don't have the players to play that formation. Only reason why that formation worked with the Dutch in the World Cup is because in the back 3, they had a leader in Vlaar to direct De Vrij and Martins Indi around. For us, Smalling was very exposed and if we don't get an fully experienced CB, then I expect Evans to become the leader with Jones and Rojo. Thats only IF & WHEN we 3-5-2.

Hmmm... I'm obviously excited by the di Maria signing (not official yet though, i am aware of that)... But where does it leave us? You don't sign a player of that caliber for that amount of money to play out of position.. (wingback).. Anyway where i'm getting at is that the 3-5-2 (well it's basically the same, some call it 3-4-3, 3-4-1-2 etc etc) should be ditched. van Gaal likes 4-3-3 and if we sign another midfielder (looks like de Jong is off, doesn't apparently want to leave Milan), which leaves us?? Strootman during the next transfer window? And while Carrick is injured plus Herrera etc... I think van Gaal will be after Blind, the guy is naturally a defensive midfielder, but his versatility could prove very useful for us. As with Rojo.
Reading goal.com and some random "source" they got it from, is that we've made a bid for Vidal as well... I doubt it.. Blind will probably come and unless there's a surprise coming, no one else.. (i'm baked so this was pretty difficult to type, i hope it makes sense)

Completely forgot about him... They guy would be available for around 12m pounds? I think Arsenal were after him and his wage demands put the off.. Although i don't like the guy... i think he'd be a great addition to our squad right now.. I doubt it's going to happen, though.Mandieta6;3724109 said:

I'd be happy with either Blind or De Jong. Both are proven players that know and understands Van Gaal's philosophy so they won't need more time to adapt. This allows them to go straight into the match like they do with the Dutch team.
