It`s just that you people think this whole stuff in a way too naive way. You all seems to think that this is just like a backyard football in the neighbourhood or school where when a player is havin` a bad relationship with his coach he just easily leave. This is high level football, there`s no way a player leave for some incident that somewhat ridiculous and unintended. That`s just too silly for a reason in this level of football. Or there`s no way you can expect the player to change his mind just because the fans want him to stay or havin` a reconciliation party, or mates than he knew for a long time will get pissed too. Hey, they`re all pros and they`ll work for the club that benefits them the most. Football at this level is more than a game, it`s serious bussiness and players, like it or not, are nothin` but assets, including Beckham. Beckham, Giggs, Ronaldo, Raul, etc maybe popular but behind their club boards desk and in front of their club`s presidents eyes, they`re just an assets that can be sold or exchanged to gain something.

yes ...i dunno if it was this thread but i said its not like i feel sorry for him at all, i just think that its mostly management that wants him to go and if it was up to him he would stay next season....the reason for this is b/c beckhams company or whatever it is said he was disappointed to hear the news about them coming to an agreement with Barcelona without him knowing....thats all i really have to say about it b/c it doesnt really matter to me....it actually intrigues me b/c i want to see how he would do at another club

It`s not disgraceful til` Beckham himself said so, til` he said that himself feels disrespected. Afterall, who knows what a man`s got in his mind, maybe he is very happy if he has the chance to play in Madrid. Not all players deserve to be there, only special ones.

oh my, could u say that again? or just give me what uve been smoking.:kader:

Do you people are all mind readers ? He can say that, Figo said that too when he was with Barca, and look at him now. It`s professional football people and we live in the 21st century where money talks, bull**** walks. No more those old days sentimentality between players and the club or with the fans. It`s bussiness, and it`s hard cash in big amounts. Forget also that boot incident, that`s way a ridiculous childish excuse for a man like Beckham to walk away. The bottom line is : MONEY !!!!

hey man, we dont have to be mind readers to know what one thinks sometimes. if ur wise enough, you can use ur logic to analyse what he thinks even he doesnt speak out. sometimes it's disgraceful not to understand what one thinks until he tells you.

isn't it funny how they always have a comment on the arrogance of Wenger, and now they are seeing arrogance at it's height and the players haven't got a thing to say, and most of the fans are speculating that it's good for the team.

What am I talking about?
The sale of Beckham!

You'd think their talismanic captain courageous Roy Keane would have something to say?
He was right quick to run his mouth about the Republic's training methodolgy and lack of sophistication, but the sale of the England Captain? Noooooooooooooo! He keeps his mouth shut!

You'd think the Nevilles, Ole and Giggs who stuffed their mouths in their scissors tail suits at his wedding would make a statement?
Nooooooooooooooooo! Not those sissies!
But what can you expect from Ole; Arsenal fans know very well how he keeps his mouth shut when so ordered.

And don't buy this nonsense about it's just business, that's the baloney the ManU jockstraps want to feed you.
The real truth is that every now and again Sir Alex likes to play God!

Guess what it is just business, with a personal touch. But it comes down to money. Ferguson gets his wage and Becks gets his millions, they're both happy.

United and Ferguson are the best at playing games with the media, no matter how much the media denies it. Most press releases or quotes to the media are fixed. One week Becks wants to leave the other he doesn't. Football is full of these games of words. We have no idea what is happening in the United Club house, what is released to the public is masked.
Be careful what you believe as true.

I can't believe you Antithesis. Such a hypocrit! Want to talk about shabby board room operations? Well I don't see that flashy new stadium being built that Arsenal have promised for so long! What about offering Patrick Viera and Robert Pires a new contract?

As soon as it looks like Beckham is leaving Manchester United, you lead the band wagon and talk about how unreasonable United have been - Typical Arsenal supporter. United have a business dealing to conclude, and they have done so in a very efficient manner. If that's the means that they have to go to keep United above you Gooners then I'm all for it!

and I guess your new name is Bex77.

As for Vieria and Pires the question is about offering them the best deal possible, not dumping them.
And if anyone's a hypocrite it's Sir Alex, as The Sun said better than I, he stood by Keane when his book and behaviour threatened to get out of hand.He stood by Cantona when he brought the Club and football into disrepute. He hasn't had a thing to say about Butt allegedly slapping a woman.
That Club in the last ten years has had cocaine addicts, menage a tois, girlfriend swapping, assaulting paying fans, pre-meditated assault on a fellow professional, and a manager striking a player, not to mention a manager who has openly led his friends to a Club takeover that invariably makes his employers his employees.

And what is his new grand move, get rid of Beckham because he doesn't kiss his behind,or, worse yet,he refuses to remove his alice-band, or whatever Sir Alex decides to make-up next.

That's your hypocrite, not me, I AM SIMPLY offering an opinion about a player I admire. Sure he plays for ManU, but to err is human.

All, i have to say to you, is................MAYBE ALEX thinks about the club and not the popularity!!!!!!!!!! And it was time for Beckham to go. I think Fergie knows better, he was the only one who afterall stood by to bring Ruud, while the boards thought that it would be a 20 million wasted. About the behaviour of the team, "Don't mess Leeds with United". Becks did had good games and bad games but Fergusom got fed up of all this underachieved results and he promised to rebuild the team, well that's his first step, to get the most money possible.

what i read today - fergie is planning to alter his system to attempt to perform better in the CL and Beckham doesn't figure in that system. So he wants to cash in on him. That's not a bad reason to sell Beckham.
Only when the new band of players are bought we'll know what exactly were ferguson's designs.

And you know that Fergie expects Beckham to kiss his behind from where ? Is there any statement from him about that ? Is there any rumour about that ? Huh, that`s plain simple, your brain start to thinking stuffs that never happens cos` you just can`t accept that we are that damn good, this is only pure bussiness, nothin` more. We`ll see, next season Man U will still be Man U. We will still be strong, and your pointless argument means nothin` like all your previous prediction how Arsenal will rule blah, blah, blah.

No, it's wasn't a bad result. But with that much money United had and their experience, not being able to get even to the semis isn't good. United haven't stepped up to the next level, since they won the treble and it was time for change. Fergie wanted to bring more than 2 players in but he had to sell first to do so. Beckham was his target, as he was going further and further with his lifestyle. Beckham thought that it's good because it will bring more fans and more merchandise for the club, while Fergie probably thought that it could become unsafe, like with all those kidnapping things. Plus Fergie was just unhappy with Beckham and especially after he couldn't play against Carlos. So Ferguson did a move to make a club move on, so that he can rebuild have of his team, especially when Beckham was getting bigger than Ferguson. Not all people in the Far East know fergie but if you say a word "Beckham" in there, they will say "Oh! Yes! Amazing person!". I can't fully say why fergie wanted to kick out Beckham or the real story of it, nobody except Alex himself can answer to that but i just have theories, like everybody else. And to get the club to the next level for some changes and rebuilding of the team, that's my theory.
