Yeah but on the other hand our German players have been with the team for only two weeks, Makaay arrived last wednesday.

The performance was ok. The training was mainly focused on conditional workouts rather than technique, passes, etc. We will be ready in two weeks.

At least we won through pen shootout. The German commentator said before the shootout that maybe an English team would make the pens in less important games. Oh well. :D

Ze Roberto, Salihamidzic and Ballack had good games. (Y)

Alan Smith and Kieran Richardson.

Smith did a good job on the defensive end, some nice tackles. He was the leader for the young guns.


Richardson was very active over the 90 minutes. Good runnings and crosses.

Phil Bardsley and Kieran Richardson played the best IMO. Bellion had a couple of good moments but there really wasn't much to talk about. Spector had a pretty solid game as well and it was good to see Smith getting into it with Kuffour. :D

He had a good game, good runs down the left along with some good crosses. I hope he gets a chance to play this season, he'd do well.

EDIT: Rusi, Smith wore #14. ;)

i was on soldier field and saw the game from the stadium,and to tell you the truth i was dissapointed from what i saw........the second half was better than the first,but unfortunately the game finished 0-0.....the penalties were the only good thing that happen..Kahn saved 2 penalties and the game ended 4-2 for Bayen.........The stadium was amazing,58,121 attended tha game....:rockman: :rockman:

The numbers of ManU and Bayern fans were pretty even from what l've seen on tv. Before the game I had thought that ManU would've more fans.

Would it really have been that difficult to have let Butt, Giggs, Saha, Wesley Brown play? I'm not asking for that much, but fielding a U-19 side in front of fans who never get to see United is a terrible thing to do
