Some Manchester officials apparently talked again to Borussia Dortmund about the injured defender Christoph Metzelder. Dortmund are forced to sell him because of their financial troubles. Of course they would rather sell him to ManU or Real Madrid than to their national opponent.

Last year ManU offered €18M for Metzelder but Dortmund didn't accept the bid.
Thank God

Man Utd target Brewster

Manchester United have revealed they are targeting Dunfermline hit man Craig Brewster. The powerful and experienced striker would do wonders for Man Utd's attack. The big scot has played for many a club, leaving his mark on each. At 38, he had a good deal of games under his belt, having starred for Forfar, Raith, Dundee United, Ionikos Nikea, and Hibs before landing with the Pars.

It is expected that the transfer will send around £12m to Dunfermline. Brewster will arrive in Manchester this summer, and will be handed the #10 shirt (van Nistelrooy is expected to take the #8 from Nicky Butt).

What injury did he pick up? It would be great if we could bring in Metzelder during the summer. He's class.

How long has he been out? I'm afraid that it could turn into a bidding war over the summer for Metzelder between United, Real, and Chelsea. Maybe even more teams will be after him but those three will be the three main contenders for his services. With United's attitude towards transfers nowadays, that's not something we need after what happened with Ronaldinho and now Robben.

I don't think Man. Utd. , in fact i know(not trying to sound like arrogant fcuk) would win a bidding war between Madrid, Chelsea, and Man. Utd.

but i might be wrong hopefully we get Joaquin and a Metzelder-like defender( Metzelder, Mexes, Alex, etc.)

That's exactly the reason I worry about a bidding war breaking out for Metzelder. After what's happened as of late, we would lose out on him, just like we lost out on Ronnie and Arjen, and it just seems that the board is reluctant to splash out the cash to bring in a world class player.

He's missed the majority of the season. No doubt though, he will be a big target this summer, along with Mexes. I'd prefer he go to Madrid, or United, as long as it ain't Chelsea.

Though, why would you want Metzelder when you can have his littler brother, Malte. :D

Is he as good a player as his brother? :p I'd prefer a proven player though. Its great that Fergie is looking towards the future but bringing in a world class player wouldn't hurt either.

Hhmm, it would probaly be best if he played in Germany a little while longer to gain experience. Sounds like a good prospect though. How old is Malte btw?

United must get Wesley Sneijder from Ajax, he is not worse than Robben. I think Sneijder is the best young player in the world.

WTF is going on
We missed out on Ronaldinho and now Robben

I was f***** shocked when I saw the headline...What happened to the "No one but ManUtd" mentality that he was saying. THen he went for the $$$$. This just caps off our great season so far. :(
