Nah I see you getting Baines, he's got to go to a big club sooner or later and I think your only rival is us and it looks like we're backing Bertrand....... also maybe one of Witsel, Cabaye or Fellaini..... but whilst those a good players, the prospect of you getting one of them doesnt fill me with fear.

You really should go all guns blazing for Modric, even if he costs you 40m, just as a statement of intent and to prove you can still make the big deals and lure the big players.

Man united would be the right place for Lucas, SAF is good developing young players and then sell them to Real Madrid. He's good, 3th best of Brasileirao after Neymar and Oscar.
Yeah I think he could he a big hit at United (much more so than at Chelsea), hence why I want him to go straight to Spain or Italy!

yeah, if there's one thing the Premiership is known for, it's taking precocious Brazilian whizkids and fulfilling their potential ...

but Spain? and Italy? pfffttt, graveyards for the technically-adept, dribbler types ...

Champions League rivals are rivals too, surely?

he doesn't want Lucas becoming a big thing at a rival club ...

that's a lot more likely to happen in Spain or Italy, since they are more technical and tactical leagues, and the language/culture shift is smoother ...

it is a lot less likely to happen at United, or anywhere in England, since it has never happened before, as much because of the (ugh) physical nature of the league, as the language/culture transition issue ...

I'm sorry to get into your path of trolling and excitement derived from debating with others (what's the point of debating when there is no point of debating?)
but Sir_Didier_Drogba's only point was that he didn't want a potentially good player to go to a rival team in the domestic league. Nothing to do with ability to develop skillful brazilian players which you so like debating (masterdebating).

Fergie said we would have one or two more transfers this year, I hope he signs quality center midfield, that's a must but I have a feeling that we will waste 17m on Baines.

We could possibly bring one or two more in. When there’s a major international tournament on, there’s a delay in the transfer market. But now the European Championships are over, we’re trying to bring someone in. We’ve always done well in terms of getting players at the end of season, instead of waiting all summer. In Kagawa’s case, there was a fair bit of negotiating and that kept going for weeks. As for Powell, we knew Dario Gradi [Crewe Alexandra director of football] would help us do the deal quickly.

I wouldn't mind if we sign Baines. As someone previously mentioned, he's got to play for a big club already. We could seriously do with some full back cover. The price shouldn't really be a deterrent considering his quality. He could be of big use to us.

And oh, considering the fact that every time I have created a Manchester United thread here, we went on to win the EPL, will it be agreeable to everyone if I create the new Manchester United thread? A little superstition doesn't hurt anyone. If anybody else had already thought of making it, then go ahead make it. You are more than welcome. :)

I DO want to see Lucas Moura become a great player. I hate seeing talent get wasted, I like watching great players play.

It's not that I'm worried about playing against him, we can deal with the big players (just look at the job we did on Messi). What I'm worried about is him potentially turning those 1-1 draws at Wigan or Stoke or wherever into 2-1 wins for United. I would LIKE to see him get 15 goals and 20 assists in a season for Barcelona, I really, really DONT want to see him do that at Man Utd. I also dont want to see Man Utd buy him for 25m now and sell him for 70m to Real Madrid in two years time, giving them more money to strengthen their squad.

You fucking douche.

fair enough, but my point is that your worries are unfounded ... like I've said already, there's a reason why the Prem has never had a world class Brazilian dribbler to boast about in its history ... long may that continue ...

oh, and the latest rumours have Lucas going to Inter for 25 mil ...

I'm hoping Ramires will be that man. But whilst we may not have had a Brazilian, Premier League clubs (and especially Man Utd) have a long history of making sure exciting young players reach their potential, and quickly. Moura strikes me as someone who could quickly become a better player than Nani. I dont want Man Utd to have another better player than Nani.

long history? especially Man Utd? wait, apart from that one 90s generation? and I'd hardly call them exciting ... enlighten me with names, would you ...

*Sigh* since 2000 - Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, Rio Ferdinand, Darren Fletcher, Silvestre, Hernandez not even to mention the boys of the 90s many of whom players well into the later 2000's and with more in the pipeline. And you cant just dismiss "that one 90s generation" which contained Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Butt, Ince, Cole etc etc........

EDIT: And before you go saying that some of those players arent exciting I personally am extremely excited by great defending and am not just impressed by bells and whistles.

Seriously...... do you even know what you are doing? Having started arguing with your complete misinterpretation of the point I was making, you have then without skipping a beat started arguing with actual (relatively innocuous) point I was making, and now a side aspect of the point I was making. You are like a rabid dog.

As usual you are back posting during the time a new thread is needed. You come here for 1 month, create a new thread then disappear for 11 months haha. Typical you. :nape:

I don't believe in superstition bull**** of course but I have no objection.

dear dear ... you said you were worried about Lucas going to Utd, and making an impact there; my retort was that your worries are unfounded -- for the same reason that the Prem has no history of Brazilian dribbler types ...

I'm still chortling that you had to reach for Fletcher and Silvestre ... but, anyway, I'll leave it at; I didn't bring up "exciting players", you did, and you are free to define "exciting" as you wish ...

Err, man if you really believe that I am posting here just so I get the opportunity to open a thread, I don't really know what to tell you. If my memory serves me right, YOU created this thread. I did not even think about the new season's thread until I saw you talking about it the other day. If I wanted to behave like the 'typical' me, I'd have gone ahead and started the thread without telling anyone like I have done in the past. Anyway, you make it. No need to make a fuss about such a small thing.

EDIT: It's rather amusing to see Sir_Didier_Drogba waxing eloquent about United.

Make the thread, just copy-paste stuff, don't use your own mind or the first post won't make any sense.

So, Kagawa gets the number 26 - a legendary number for all involved in United, a number that was once worn by true legends - Taibi, Manucho, Obertan :D

PS. Xifio is adorable.
