Sergio Aguero of Atletico Madrid is the latest name added to the "possibles" list by the media today. I've seen a bit of Villa and he'd be a good acquisition for us. I haven't really seen much of Silva though.

In other United news, looks like Tomas Kuszczak is out of Euro 08 after injuring his back - the physio reckons he'll be fit in a month's time. Shame for Tomas, but he was #2 behind Arthur Boruc anyway so he wouldn't have played much.

On that subject here are the United players that are in Euro 2008 (that I remember)

Edwin Van Der Sar (Holland)
Patrice Evra, Mickael Silvestre & Louis Saha (France)
Nani (and Ronaldo) (Portugal)
Tommy Kuszczak (Poland)

I think that's the lot.

are you sure sylvest and louis are included in the french squad? i dont think so you know...

Its great idea, but i think you should do some fading and transperancy on it. Because all the pictures are of same quality and it looks like a collage, rather than a picture.

I see what you mean and I've done some revisions;

Looks better now!

In United news, Arsenal are leading the race for Aaron Ramsey after he met Wenger in Switzerland last night.

Looks like United are also considering making Louis Saha part of a deal to bring Blackburn's Roque Santa Cruz to the Theatre of Dreams - although Arsenal are eyeing him up to replace Adebayor who is wanted by Milan.

Apparently Wenger has gone to the EURO'S with his cheque book.
I will be very unhappy if we were to lose Ramsey.I think he could have been a sureshot good replacement for Giggsy.

because he is better wise advised to continue playing in a settled team rather than to switch to a different climate so quickly.

All that apart, what have we ever done to deserve this? At this point in time we should be celebrating a delightful double earnt with the sweat and blood of the players and all concerned, and here we are debating whether our best player is about to desert the ship all summer thanks to your cunning marca and calderon remarks.:sleep:

Ummmm, no. Ronaldo has shown interest towards us! He has all the power. Stop using Marca and Calderon as scapegoats. Ronaldo and you guys is where the problem is. We can't force anyone to play for us, all we can do is entice but that initial interest has to be there from any player. Im sure he wouldn't go to Siberia to play for an enormous sum! It's a combination of money, childhood dreams, moving on to better and bigger things and new challenges. As for Ferigie and td. it makes no sense to force someone to play for you if they are not into it 100%. Playing in England (unless you are afan of particular clubs) isn't that appealing to many players. Lifestyle, climate, and so on are very important. Add that to the fact that he will haver the chance to cement himself at the biggest club in football history and if he succeeds there, like he did at United, it'll definately place him in the allt ime ranks. Of course, this is all assuming he's not baiting you guys for more money

Podolski looked sharp today, the BBC commentators were saying he's struggled at Bayern - I wonder if they may be selling him? I think he'd do a good job at Old Trafford.

He looked very good today indeed. The 2nd goal was just an amazing skill to take the ball from such heigh with so much power and accuracy and still keep it low. I think he is destined for good future given the right coach and he could definietly be a superb back-up to Rooney and Tevez. I don't even know if he really struggled at Bayern or Toni and Klose were just too good because those two did have a great season. If Podolski keeps on playing like that in the rest of the tournament then somebody is bound to knock on Bayern's doors.

syaz wan sends his congratulations and would like to announce that he is returning to the United fold once more, at least until Ronaldo leaves for Madrid, when he will continue the glory hunting circle and don the white shirt once more. If however Chelsea manage to secure the services of a well-known manager then he reserves the right to hook up with them again.

Even you are fooled by your own newspaper. You of all people should now what Marca is capable of...I am quite sure that Ronaldo never said that he wants to play for Real, at most it would have been something like Real is a 'nice' club to play for. The most concrete prove you can have is even with the CL cup in his hands he said that he is staying with us, in numerous interviews after that he repeated those words. The boy himself hasn't said a word about this case. How can out of all news sources an unknown 'respected' Brazilian newspaper with Marca roots claim that he told them that he wants to go to Real. Ronaldo just want to focus on the European Cup and play a good tournament. He doesn't even need to comment on these foolish Real statements cause he knows that he will be staying with us and that there is nothing to worry about. I am quite sure that he will be staying with us and besides that he will even sign an improved contract. Marca is as usual twisting and turning every word and using relatives as an excuse to lure Ronaldo. Besides that naming big salaries through the media etc. it's all down to Marca and Real and not Ronaldo. Real can show interest in a player in a different way, and that is not by constantly trying to play with the boy's mind through the media.

The most worrying thing is that next summer the rumours will be even worse. Real should focus on nurturing there own players into superstars. Robinho could have been fantastic for them. The same goes for Higuan etc

umm...the commentators during half time of Romania - France mentioned that we've officially filed some sort of complaint to FIFA for Real Madrid trying to get Ronaldo? Anyone know about this?

Aaron Ramsey is set to decide where he's going this week. Reports suggest he is leaning towards Arsenal however. :swear2:

Saw Ribery today, sporadically because he went missing for large parts of the game, either he was stifled by Romania or he was half asleep (Certainly didn't look worth the £30M price tag Bayern have put on him). Benzema was disappointing as well.

Hope they shine more in the tournament (If France stick around for a bit that is)

That's how you time it....wait for the player to sway a bit in one direction and then report the other club, making it awkward for the player to go forward with negotiations between two "not so friend" clubs.

lady lover...I am going to laugh if the man comes out after the Euro saying that he wants to play for Madrid....True, Marca has de-stabilized the situation but please dont sit here for a second and deny that Ronaldo has ever said he wants to play for us. In an interview with a well known Portuguese newspaper he said and even in a pres-conference prior to the Euro he said: I have a dream to play for Real Madrid. You have dreams too no? well that's my dream?" Why can't some of you guys accept that Ronaldo just wants to play at Madrid, in his universe United is not the top of the ladder, to him that is Madrid...He is going about it completely wrong IMO but it is his doing, as I said before, When we started nibbling at Kaka, what did he do? he came out and inequivocally said: I want to stay in Milan...why does it take Ronaldo THIS long to come out with an answer...as yourself that question....lets be realistic here and instead and throwing all the blame on Calderon and Madrid and all that look at the player himself.

Oh my! Are you nuts? Its self admitted his interest! As for obinho, what do you mean could of? He still plays for us and up to his injury was by far our best player. Don't even bring up nutrturing players, success and all that. Weve experienced all of that many more time sthan you have. What are you talking about? FYI, Higuain is settling in very well. Has all the traits and values that Raul has to be a lifelong Madrid player. Schuster is doing an exceellent job with all our players. We have avery young team and have won 2 straight titles and that s not bad for having a relatively young team and new coach.

It doesn't matter what Ronaldo said. I believe he did express his desire to move to Madrid, but that's beside the point here.

What is relevant is how Madrid are going about this transfer. It's their usual style, IMO. SAF said there was interest from several clubs, but Madrid were the only one who filled columns with it. Every day there's something in MARCA about Ronaldo and Madrid. Real Madrid are not the only club in the world, there are others who also watched Ronaldo play and look at him as a possible signing, but Madrid have their unique way of "persuading" other clubs, which is really what started all this.

And the player expressing his desire to join you doesn't give you the right to ignore the rules. If you want him, pay what United are asking. If you don't want to, tough **** for both Ronaldo and yourselves.

I don't think anything will change in Madrid's approach because it is what it has always been, and sadly enough, a good part of the Madridismo is actually proud of the way RM conduct business.
