I think Carlos Quieroz is the likeliest of choices. United will want somebody as close to Ferguson as possible and Carlos has been here for quite sometime. Infact i'd be surprised if they went for somebody else.

To me it sounds like Ronaldo is typical person that doesn't say anything with certainty because life is not certain. Maybe he doesn't want to look as stupid as Robben (who said he would NEVER chose Chelsea over United), INCASE, he does end up going to Madrid. He said that 2 years ago and nobody really had too many problems with it, but now that Ronaldo is the best in the world the papers are jumping at it as if there is something happening. And as a result everybody else gets irritated.

Sure it would have been better to come out and say "I have absolutely no plans of leaving in the next couple of years" to make the fans happy. But to me the fans could get over it themselves because all there irritation does is just gives more reason for the newspapers to write this. If nobody cared, like they didn't 2 years ago, then the media would have long moved on onto Messi leaving Barca or Chelsea's new manager or something. If people are sick of Ronaldo leaving, then STOP DAMN READING/BUYING THE DAMN NEWSPAPERS.

To me it just seems like Ronaldo and his agent are banking on getting him the best contract ever. Seriously, lots of agents do this. Say that so and so team is interested in them and both the agent/player will also gives signal to the other club that they indeed do want to move there when really they are just playing both clubs and the media so he can get that big contract and his agent can get a nice chunck of change as well.

That's basically what it means when he says he will decide in a week or so about his future. Than Marca will go on its hate for us (Calderon really) and say how Ronaldo rejected us and blah blah blah.

The agents are really pissing me off almost as much as insurance companies these days.

Agents are a major thing that's wrong with football and a large reason why the money is obscene. Contracts mean next to nothing now anyway.

Roy Keane is still a rookie at this level with his gash signings, but he is doing well at Sunderland. Steve Bruce is a doubt for me because of him jumping clubs now and then and Bryan Robson, no. Mark Hughes is still the one who I highly rate because of the impressive job he has done with Blackburn.

Sparky would be great at Old Trafford.

Did you read the latest Cristiano rumour (from the Express) Real Madrid are lining up a £150M cash plus player deal including Sergio Ramos, Mahmadou Diarra and Robinho plus cash!

Ramos and Diarra are class - Diarra is like Michael Essien for Chelsea, driving forward from midfield - he'd fit nicely, Ramos is a class defender and would be great cover for Rio and Vida and Robinho would keep some of the trickery we'd lose from Cristiano. I didn't think Real could come up with a tempting offer - but I'm inclined to think this may just be one. If they threw Sneijder in as well then I'd go for it.

Also the Daily Mirror reckons Fergie will go on a £50M spending spree in the fortnight before Euro 2008 - Dani Alves and Luis Fabiano from Sevilla and Micah Richards from Citeh.

Oh and Manucho has been called to report for pre season training at Carrington on July 1st.

I wouldn't call that offer tempting at all.
The report's probably BS anyway.
I thought Dani Alves was going to Barca?
And also, Pique's move to Barca has been almost certainly confirmed.

Why would Real throw 3 superstars for one? That paper should fire whoever wrote that BS. If they want to sell papers, make the news believable at least.

I think the total of the players was part of the 150 million. In any case United have now threatened to report Madrid if this continues.

The Ronaldo situation is simple. He is looking for a huge contract with Utd. Nothing more. Fergie is wasting his time bickering with us. He is travelling to Switzerland to speak face to face with Ronaldo about him staying at Utd. That;s what he has to do, well he and the sporting director. The issue is between Man Utd. and Ronaldo, not Madrid. We only want players who want to play for us. Naturally, if they want to play for us we will entertain options if we see the player as a good fit. That's all!

Mark Hughes has been shortlisted for Grant's job.I would prefer Carlos over anyone else as our manager because he has a great eye for talent(Just read his wikipedia page).

Queiroz warns Spain: You stole Christopher Columbus from us but you will never have Cristiano Ronaldo.

If that deal, offered by Real Madrid is actually made then Ferguson will without a doubt take it.

Queiroz is funny! Christopher Columbus brought into the saga  I'm sure he feels like a muppet by now.
Well I hope this dies down. We don't need Ronaldo, he would just be a luxury. Our chemistry is good, our core are young talented players and we play as a team and things look very bright, extremely bright. I say, don't fix what isnt broken.

Guys, relax, Ronaldo isnt moving from Utd. He just wants more cash...$nothing more.

Sir Alex Ferguson will fly out to Euro 2008 for face-to-face talks with Cristiano Ronaldo. Fergie will do everything in his power to prevent Ronaldo from turning his back on Old Trafford. Ronaldo's refusal to commit himself to the club has left Manchester United increasingly concerned. And now they are threatening official action against Real Madrid, who are desperate to land the £100million-rated winger. United's concern is such that Fergie is preparing to fly to Geneva next week to speak directly to Ronaldo at Portugal's Euro 2008 training camp. Ronaldo arrives in Switzerland with the Portuguese squad this weekend with Fergie keen to meet the 23-year-old early to ensure he doesn't compromise their build-up to the tournament.

Madrid's president as already said is giving up purchasing Ronaldo in order to not ruin the relationships with a "friend" club...
