Great signings, now we have great back-up in defense, they are both young and are still developing into a better player and they chose the right manager to help them get to their best. Based on Vidic's compilation he is a great header, he jumps high and has a great timing in the air, he has the ability to hit the ball hard constantly, his positioning is great aswell he could fill in the gaps at critical moments........and for Evra we have a young player who already has experience in the CL and he already has a CL final under his belt.

Vidic looks impressive with his airplay, tackling, positioning - I've never seen such things from silly silvestre (who btw is out of Utd soon, no matter what Fergie says)

Evra, as long as he's better than O'Shea, Richardson and Silvestre there it's an improvement, and when Heinze comes back he'll be only a back up player anyway.

to a question about Gravesen some post back.
He's been good last season, somehow this season whenever he played he was absolutly shyte. why I don't know, but his passing, positioning wasn't good.
He got a lot of cards, but in La Liga that normal if you come from the EPL, everybody get's down way easier and more theatralic. LaLiga has many many more Reyes, Ronaldos, Joe Cole's etc...

as for a DM
What about Scott Parker ? welll he's injuried atm, but has been playing a fantastic season so far + I'm sure with the right offer Newcastle would sell him - since they need money to reinvest their defense, and attack.

@Shokz - that bloke would be perfect suited physically...but FC won't sell him hopefully.

SPECIAL BEER BREWED FOR £7M CENTR'ALE' DEFENDER

Friday 06 Jan 2006SPECIAL BEER BREWED FOR £7M CENTR'ALE' DEFENDER To celebrate the £7 million signing of Serbian centre-back Nemanja Vidic to Manchester United, local brewer JW Lees has brewed a special one-off beer, aptly named 'Number 15 Ale', given the players new squad number.

As Manchester's top brewer, JW Lees are leading the welcome party for the former Spartak Moscow player who, as part of Serbia and Montenegro's 'famous four' defence, conceded just one goal during the entire World Cup campaign.

Whilst Manchester United chiefs will hope that Vidic doesn't enjoy his welcome drinks too much, JW Lees believe that welcoming the new signing into the Manchester culture as quickly as possible will only have positive repercussions on the football pitch.

Said Head Brewer Giles Dennis, 'I'm delighted with the signing. I'm an avid Manchester United fan and I think the fans need to welcome Vidic into the Manchester way of life so that he feels right at home. I thought, what better way than to present him with his very own traditional northern ale'.

Now it seems JW Lees bar staff across the Manchester pub estate will be asking customers 'are you being Serbed?'

1. I think Silvestre will stay as a backup player, i wouldn't mind that at all and i trust SAF. He's got some good abilities and we can benefit from his experience, but is just inconsistent.

2. Gravesen has looked crap mainly due to lack of games, its incredibly hard for a player to get into form when they're only playing the odd game.

3. Theres no way that Newcastle are going to sell a player that hasn't even been at the club a year for an acceptable price. No chance.

Doesn't matter how many games Gravesen plays for Real, the fact is, EPL suits him more than La Liga. I wouldn't mind him at United at all, but if w get him, we will be looking for another CM in 2 years so I'd prefer someone younger...

Wot do u guys rekon to James Milner? he's looked impressive this season for Villa, a long term replacement for Scholesy maybe!

James Milner is a fantastic talent that would definately bring something new to the team. And he can play very well in the Scholes role, he can play all across midfield.

i think javier mascherno would be a great signing he is the exact same as keane and i heard he isnt happy at corintians so i dont think he would cost a lot and he is still young

Who do you think will play next season though , Heinze or Evra , the signing of Evra suprised me , I thought it would be better to wait for Heinze to return, rather than sign a replacement, especially as there isn't much to play for this season. Oh well at least we will never have to see O'shea or Silverstre play defense again. we just need a central midfielder now , Ribery would be good but we don't really need another winger and he won't be cheap either unless we trade Ronaldo.

I think SAF will try Evra on the LM position, with Heinze playing behind him. Evra was a winger a couple of years ago, he hasn't been a defender for so long
