anyone have a video of the kick? I missed the game yesterday
heard it was a left footed kick. Was he aiming for the advertising boards?

He's famous for his "i hate scousers" attitude so Gaz will always be a target. Lost his cool.

Would like to know what the provokers actually said
actually, i think gary didnt kick the ball towards the crowd on purpose. If he did that on purpose, he should have kick it much harder.

And I did want Scholes to take that tackle which gave him the second yellow card, i dont know y...but i just want him to kick Kilbane at the moment. :p

A poor loss...no creativity again, only that Rooney lob to Scholes is a better chance. :nape: why didnt Fergie bring in Smith or Giggs?

I 2nd that, gloryhunter I guess.

After watching yesterdays game, I've got to admit that this Man Utd team is not good enough. they need to break up the team, they're becoming stale, have no ideas on what to do when the going gets tough.

They need to bring fresh faces who would go straight into the first team not someone like Miller, Kleberson , Bellion who are not good enough.

But with not funds available next season, I have that gut feeling that next season will turn out like this season and also the last.

This may sound crazy but I would want Sir Alex to go as well, I respect him and a great guy that he is, he has run his course at Man Utd, I want a different manager to take the helm at Man Utd so that he can bring fresh ideas on a club becoming stale, hell I would even let Queiroz take the helm. Main point something different. I could go on ranting forever ...... but this is what I have to say .....

I got to say watching yesterday game, it's the first time that I've been frustrated watching a football game ... I feel like shooting down the whole team ........ :f***: :f***: :f***: :f***:

Of course he meant it, but maybe he had second thoughts in the moment he kicked the ball, so it didn't go as hard as he maybe had planned. If he had kicked it hard and hit somebody, it would probably have been as bad as the Cantona kick against the Crystal Palace supporter, and Neville would maybe have been suspended for some time.

I agree with you on this. Sir Alex has done an EXTREMELY good job at Manchester United, and in the last 20 years, no other manager in the world can compare to what he has done with Manchester United (IMO).

But football has changed a lot in the last years, and it seems Sir Alex isn't following. I think after this season or the next (if he hasn't improved Man Utd very much) would be a good time for him to resign.
But if I know Sir Alex like I think, he won't quit before he wins the Premier League again ;)

Why did Gary kick the ball to the crowd??? actually i dont know why he did that... the fans curse or insult him? the Cantonese commentators said that its strange for such an experienced player to do something like that... perhaps Gary hates the scousers so much?? and also he had said too much to the ref before so the ref gave him a red card. :p

I have that feeling too. But I hope he will sit down at the end of the season & say to himself "I have done enough at this club and I'll shall move on to give someone else their chance" ..... I'm dreaming am I ......

Yeah, the Everton fans probably insulted him, but he has been said things to hundreds of times before, so one would think he could manage to stay cool in these situations.
If it had been Wayne Rooney who had done it, I'd understand it more, because of his age and the fact that he has a strong relationship with the Everton supporters, but Gary Neville has played first team football for one of the best clubs in the world for 10 years now, so he should be experienced enough to not let these things get to him.

Fernandez

Team Captain
Sir Alex Ferguson felt Phil Dowd was a "weak referee" as he saw Manchester United crash to a 1-0 defeat at Everton, finishing the game with ten men.

The Scot exchanged angry words with his opposite number David Moyes, later dismissed by the Toffees chief, and was clearly unhappy with the match official.

However, Ferguson did concede that Gary Neville was wrong to kick the ball towards a spectator after being baited by the home fans.

"Well, I think Everton knew it was a weak referee and they exploited that to the full," protested Ferguson to Sky Sports News.

"I don't blame them. If you get a chance like that, with the crowd behind them, they're going to take advantage.

"But, right from the first whistle, there was no protection.

"When you think about Paul Scholes's sending off for a late challenge, how many late challenges were there from Everton players? Amazing!

"But credit to Everton. They fought and hunted every ball down and, once they got in front, they were going to be difficult to beat.

"The opportunities we had were mainly from outside the box. Nigel Martyn proved his worth alright in that respect with three or four good saves from outside the box but we never really opened them up in a way we can. Scholes had a good chance after half time when he got in on a Rooney pass but, once again, Martyn had a great save.

"I don't know the exact rule on that [Neville's sending off] but you can't kick a ball at a spectator, not nowadays, and Gary should know that.

"There's intimidation from supporters, you're always going to get that and there was plenty of that today, but it's a derby game and Gary Neville should know better and should never have done it."

What a sad and pathetic excuse. I thought that Phil Dowd had a very good game and controlled the match very well. I thought that the cards he given out were deserved. We got free-kicks when we should have had them.

I agree, I think the referee was quite good actually. Didn't do many wrong choices. The two red cards were deserved.
